brushed his teeth. I looked in his mouth tonight and seen he has, what looks like to me, a couple of cavity's and one of them was even loose. Does anyone have any idea what a vet should charge for tooth removal? Has anyone else ever had a dog that they had to have their teeth pulled? How did they act after?

you need to get him to a vet. the loose tooth is probably very painful for him and has other problems you can't see. a normal dental with extractions will run you around $100-$400. depending on where you live, what your vet charges and his age. if he's older than 7 years you really should do a presurgical blood profile. if left untreated, your dog can develop heart, kidney and liver damages due to the bacteria from the teeth getting into the bloodstream. depending on what tooth it is, and how many other teeth need to be extracted will depend on what you need to do after the dental. your vet will be able to answer those questions. take him in tomorrow he might need to be on antibiotics for a few days before the dental. good luck. and no matter after the dental he will be happier. his mouth will feel much better and you will be happier because his breath won't stink so bad.

Yes, I had to take my Jack Russell Terrier in to get his teeth cleaned. He is 10 years old. I was shocked at how many bad teeth he had. The vet had to pull 7 teeth. My dog Toby did quite well after ward and has no problems now, his bad breath is also gone. The price varies greatly, depending on where you live. They did blood work on my dog to make sure he was healthy enough because he is older and they also gave him his shots. It seems to me it cost around 3 hundred dollars and it was worth every penny.

well it is probably expensive but it is probably worth it because your dog might be in pain. I would call all the local vets in your town or a town that is close nd that you are willing to travel to and ask to speak to the vet but somethimes thay are busy and if they are just tell them your dog has a cavity and it is lose and i was wondering what i should do they might put you on hold to ask the vet but it might be worth it and if they say u should have it removed ask them how much it will cost and do that with many vets and compare the costs and just remeber if you u call one out of town you might wanna add the cost of gas

It will be under anesthesia and you can opt for additional pain relief for your dog. I recommend this, as we would not want to have our teeth pulled without tylenol or better. :) It will probably cost about 200.00, but your pup will be much better off. They are prone to gum disease, so good dental hygiene is a must.

Dental chews, teethbrushing and with certain breeds, dental cleaning while at the vet.

how old is the dog? if he is just a puppy its probably just "puppy breath" and all pups loose their teeth. if he is an older dog take him to the vet and get him checked

they have products available for dog breath now in the pet sections at dept. stores. It cost me $200.00 to have one of my own teeth pulled, can't imagine how much it would cost to have a dog's extracted.
