Fantastic question and here is the true answer. It wasn't until the Book of Hebrews that the Christian Faith (which was newborn at this time) new exactly how to do things "away from the Jews." In fact, they still considered themselves Jews on some levels! Until Hebrews was written they even believed in circumscion and keeping Jewish Holidays. So, because they had no Christ there to "keep them clean," they had to rely on the apostles and the Holy Spirit.

Thus, these new members of the Christian "cult" as the Jews called them would attend Synagogue and preach and teach to the Jews as well as to the Gentiles (THIS was of complete ABOMINATION TO THE JEWS who believed that outsiders could become believers, but were not to MIX with Israelites). Even in the Old Testament, when Moses took the people out of Egypt a great "flock" of "others" came with the Children of Israel who believed and were welcomed into the Jewish faith, however, they were not welcomed into the Nation of Israel. They were and would always be, outsiders. This wasn't an insult, no way (i'm not Jewish, its just that as a Jew) they were of descent from Abraham and others were Not. Period. They had the same laws and rights, which is all that was important.

So, back to the question. They still considered themselves Jewish on some level, and had not yet "broken away completely." However, in the Book of Hebrews they submitted and got back the answers they were looking for about a number of things, including circumscision, holidays (which only the old Passover, NOW called The Lord's Supper would be kept), et. al. So, this is where the complete break with the Jews came in and Christianity (by this time they were ALREADY know as Christians) started down its OWN ROAD. So, by studying each Book of the New Testament, we can see the history of Christianity mapped out towards its full development from infancy to adulthood or "getting there."

Fantastic insight and great question!

It appears that you are new to the truth that are contained in the Word of God. This is a good place to find Christians that are here to help you, but you need to be aware of the ones who are wolves in sheep's clothing.

With that in mind, my suggestion to you is to always go directly to the source with any questions you might have concerning God's Word. That is to God Himself.

If you have not already done this, now is the time.

Continuing with the answer to your question.

Where in the world did you ever get the idea that only the Jews are to keep God"s Commandments?

When Moses was called up the mountain by God, and there he spent 40 days recording everything God told him, (the first five books of the Bible) along with the 10 Commandments, the people that Moses brought these Commandments to were called Hebrew. Eber to be exact.

Our Lord Jesus Christ came in the Volume of the Book. He is the Word of God. When Jesus went to the Cross, He paid the price for everyone. It does not matter who you are, or what you call yourself. His Word is our Way, Truth, and Life.

Refresh yourself in the Living Waters. Sit down with God Himself and ask Him how to, when to, and where to do His Will in your Life.

I to was where you are now. The best thing is you don't have to stay there.><>

Lk 4:27 : "Or think of the prophet Elisha, who healed Naaman, a Syrian, rather than the many lepers in Israel who needed help."

Since the Old Testament times the scriptures have always pointed to the Gentiles being included in God's work and saving power. Take a look at the above scripture and then cross reference it with the Old Testament, if you'd like. Naaman, a Syrian, in other words, a GENTILE, was THE ONE AND ONLY LEPER healed in the time of Elisha, even though there were MANY LEPERS in Israel. Why? Because, God was revealing to us that the Gentiles are included in His Grace. If you look at the actual scripture in the Old Testament (which, frankly, I am too tired to look up right now), you would find that 1. It was a little Jewish servant girl who told him to go to the prophet and he would be healed, 2. the prophet wouldn't even see him, but told his servant to tell Naaman to go and dip in the river Jordan seven times and he would be healed, 3. that Naaman got prideful and said that he would not do it, 4. that Naaman's officers told him that if the prophet told him to do some glorious thing, he would have done it, 5. Naaman came around and did as the prophet said and 6. was healed.

It was by following the INSTRUCTIONS of GOD through the PROPHET ELISHA that the GENTILE was HEALED.

I don't know if I answered the question the way you intended, but that is what came to me. I'd also like to add that CEM is absoulutly right. There are many, many wolves in sheep's clothing on this group, and many Satanists are answering Christian's questions, so you have to be aware of them also. Just remember to always confirm everything with God and also check everything with the Word of God. If it does not line up with the Word, throw it out. That is one thing my Pastor always teaches on.

Also, if you are new to the faith, and you want to gain a personal relationship with Christ, I would suggest that you read the Bible everyday. There is one in particular that I read, The One Year Bible. You can find it at Christian stores such as Lemstone. Or you can read it online at www.oneyearbibleonline.com

I wish you God's Blessings and hope all goes well with your walk with Christ.

The problem with your question or arguement is that you're judging something about Jewish religion or beleif based on a book totally irrelavent to the Jewish religion. Acts is in the Christian New Testament. Jews don't follow that book and are not bound to it. You're comparing apples to oranges. It's like saying an American residing in the United States must follow UK law. It doesn't apply and is completely irrelevant.

Romans thirteen:2 and John 19:11 the two point out that the authority of the secular state is instituted with tips from God, and that each and all and sundry Christians ought to obey it. The exception to this rule is that if the state says that Christians can no longer pontificate the gospel (a million Peter 4:14-15). fortunately, the form protects our precise to try this. of direction the word of God is greater significant than something secular, to me, and could be to each Christian. notwithstanding, no longer certainly all and sundry is Christian, so i does no longer assume non-believers to sense a similar way.

The New Testament was written for those of us who live in the dispensation of grace. The Jewish people followed the laws of the Old Testament because Jesus had not yet been born. The Gentiles are the followers of Jesus who came to destroy the law; He overcame hell, death and the grave. He gave us just two laws: to love God with all our hearts, minds and souls and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

It means that Paul (who had been a Jew) would take the message of teh Gospel to the religious meeting places where he knew there were people who awaited the Messiah. The Gospel teaches that Messiah has come.
