My son is complaining about having chest pains, so I asked him how bad was it and he said that it is not that bad However, I was going to take him too the emergency room. He does not have a heart condition but I am worried.. He is refusing too go to the ER, so I am going to take him to see his pediatrician tomorrow morning so that they could run some test on him.

Is this natural for a child that young to be complaining about chest pains? If yes, what can it possibily mean.. I am afraid because that boy is my heart, I am really considering taking him too the ER but he said that he is better now.

Thank you for responding...

I can't believe you're not taking him because HE REFUSES ----- If YOU THINK it's serious enough TAKE HIM , and quit wasting your time at your computer.

A 7 year old complaining of chest pains is not natural. A Mother letting her 7 year old call the shots is also, not natural. Are you his Mom or his "friend"? He could have something serious going on, or it could be indigestion. Also, it could be a bid for attention, getting you to pay close attention to him, be concerned and so on, and by refusing to go to the emergency room, he is avoiding being found out or MAYBE just because he might be afraid of what will happen if something truely is wrong. If he has no other serious symptoms, like trouble breathing, pale, sweaty, blue lips or fingers, tired or a headache, I might wait until he could be followed up by the pediatrician, but I surely would not delay. He may have something serious brewing, or something entirely innocent. A Doctor should be able to nail down which it is. In any case, I know you are worried about him, but letting him call the shots is a bad habit to be cultivating at 7 years old. Besides, he needs to know you are in charge and that includes when and where he needs medical attention. Good luck my dear, I will pray he is in good health and recieves a clean bill of health.

Hi. I'm an EMT and have previously worked as a 911 operator. I'm not a heart doctor, but in my line of work, chest pain is usually a pretty serious thing. It could be some sort of congenital heart defect from birth, or something as simple as a pulled chest muscle. However, if it hurt your child enough to complain about it, I'd take him to the ER. It wouldn't hurt just to get him checked out. They'll have to do an EKG tomorrow at the pediatricians, so you might as well take him in tonight, just in case it turns into something serious. Just reassure your son that you love him, and everything will be ok when you go to the ER. I'm sure he's nervous about going to the ER, but just let him know you will be at his side constantly. I hope everything turns out well.

It could be countless things. It's hard to say. Does he have any other health conditions? Has he been experiencing a lot of stress in his life lately? Could be a health problem or it could be something like anxiety. What is his diet like? Yes, it is possible for young people to have heart issues. The signs of heart disease are happening earlier and earlier if diet is poor and exercise is lacking. I would definitely take him to the doctor... and if he complains of chest pains in the future I would take him to the ER whether he wants too or not.

Keep an eye on him, and if I were you I would call the hospital (ask to speak to the triage nurse) and tell her/him what's going on. They will tell you if you need to bring your son in now, or wait for the clinic to open in the morning. You should ask a health professional just to be safe, chest problems shouldn't be taken lightly at any age. Good luck and hope all works out.

Your son could be experiencing Wolff Parkinson White (WPW). Is it in direction of his heart that the rigors are? I experienced WPW whilst i replaced into around a similar age. i in my opinion, relatively hurts and that's comprehensible that he's crying from the discomfort. It injury once I breathed in too. it is the way it replaced into defined to me: there is one "electric powered pathway" on your heart that keep your heart pumping. once you're a WPW affected person you have 2 of those "electric powered pathways" and whilst the 2d "pathway" is activated it reasons the midsection to pump swifter and swifter normally getting greater than 2 hundred beats in keeping with minute (the traditional heart fee being 70 or 80 beats in keeping with minute). whilst the midsection is going so speedy it creates discomfort. The discomfort each and every so often is excruciating. i replaced into prescribed to "beater blockers" that are a sort of pill that makes particular your heart does not bypass too speedy. it is treatable, there is an technique that eliminates the electrical powered pathway. most of the indicators of WPW comprise: Episodes of markedly speeded up heart fee (normally swifter than 2 hundred beats in keeping with minute). heart palpitations. Tightness interior the chest. Shortness of breath. Drop in blood stress. mild-headedness. Dizziness. Fainting spells. The reason it surely unknown so it has no longer something to with the foodstuff he eats or his well-being. you will get your son checked for WPW with an ECG. i wish this facilitates.
