yes the best I have found is Chiropractors. Find a NUCCA doctor in your area and you will be glad you did.

Surgery doesn't cure it either. I had surgery 4 years ago (laminectomy discectomy, where they removed some bone from my spine then "shaved" the herinated discs so they would not protrude anymore). After recovering from the surgery, I was almost pain-free for about 2 years, then the pain started coming back. I regret having the surgery because according to a recent MRI, my discs are worse now than they were prior to surgery. Unless you become crippled, avoid surgery at all costs. The only advice I can give is to do physical therapy, use a TENS unit, and work on your posture and movements (i.e. squatting instead of bending). Good luck, I know exactly what you are going through. I've been battling lower back pain for over 6 years now.

i have a badly herniated disc and a doctor who thinks surgery is useless. ^ months ago I joined a gym . I could hardly walk at the time and for the first few weeks I just moved around there and did what I could without bending my spine out of the flat plane--- no twisting . I now have a workout regimen and the pain is only a permanent discomfort now. I will never walk properly again but it is now just an inconvenience and not a crippling condition
When I started at the gym I told th e instructors that since I had no idea of what I could do I couldnt take one of their fitness tests and to just leave me alone to sort things out for myself
the results of going every day-yes every day-- are that I now have really good muscles everywhere and I can bend backwards and forwards holding my spine erect and I am no longer crippled just a careful mover.I am so good after 7 months that I wonder how I will be after 1 year. Do not twist and do not ber afraid of hurting yourself. there is good pain and bad pain and with disc problems you will know the difference. Go slowly and you will change
and the doctors have no idea what can be done!!!!!!!

Unfortunately No. The only other means of relief would be from a Chiropractor. However, this is not a cure. While they may be able to re-allign your spinal column, and provide relief, it is not permanent. It will only relieve the issue short term. Hence why insurance companies will not cover any treatment.
