Agree. The worst thing that I have ever read is in Genesis 1:26 in which "god" supposedly makes man and tells him that he has "dominion" over the earth and all things in it. Obviously this gave humankind the license to rape and pillage the environment. Yes, we are part of the ecosystem. We must tend it and love it and stop destroying our "home" .

I agree, man does not own the earth. Now all the borders have been drawn up, and man has mapped the earth, and left evidence of himself, all over the surface of the earth. Think of every single border on earth, as a war thats been waged, to draw it up. War upon war. That is the ride of the first horseman in Revelation.
I think human beings are the most important part of Gods creation.

I believe we are not part of the earth and the earth is owned by God. In the end of this social system the righteous will inherit the earth and justice will reign forever and there will finally be peace and happiness on earth.

God made the earth and put us in charge of it. However, this does not give us the 'go ahead' to use up all of this planets resources. Many I have spoken to have no feelings for forests and animals being cut down for human products. They are mistaken. Yes, in conclusion, we are part of the earth - and she us. We would be nothing without her, so we should do everything for her.

In a philosophical sense, I would say neither. Ownership is a construction of language and doesn't really apply. But in a practical sense I would say that we do own it - because if not us then who would?

I would not say we are truly a part of the earth, although that is a very positive and admirabe way of thinking.

We don't own the Earth because God does. We are just living here temporary.

Yes, I agree.
We are equal to the earth and all that is in and on it.
This is how I see it. We must learn to treat the earth with the same amount of gentleness and kindness that we would show ourselves. But, here is the problem: many do not know how to treat themselves with goodness. Many fight this knowledge and refuse that it is the truth. They look outside themselves for relief, but all they find is fear. It is this fear that will not allow love to grow nor allow gentleness and kindness to return to the earth.

If you are a christian you would have to say Satan owns it

Matthew 4:8&9

the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me

if satan didnt own it why would jesus not respond "it isn't yours to give"

but i am not a christian so i would say we are inhabitants of the earth not owners

Well, of course the world belongs to God, so it would only be ours if God gave it to us, and according to the Bible He did.
Psalms 115:16 The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men.

We do not own it, we are not part of it; it is just one of the various stations on our spiritual journey back to the One True God, our Father in Heaven.
This is taught clearly in the Holy Books of all the world religions.
