No doubt some of that hatred comes from yet another source or ignorance but if you TRULY want to know why intelligent people have a problem with your views.... and I MEAN TRULY want to know.... then get this book....

"Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris

It's very short and can be read in one night. Read that book and you will have a very clear picture of why. There's no reason for you not to read it. If you're secure in your faith then you should have nothing to fear. Do it to prove you have an open enough mind to at least hear a different point of view. You may even walk away with a good counter argument.

Have you actually read the bible?
The God of the bible is brutal!

Exodus 11:5 He slaughters innocent babies!
2 Kings 2:23 - 24 He kills 42 children!
Genesis 6:5 He calls then entire world wicked and evil! Without a single law by which to establish who is good and who is evil!
Genesis 18:32 He says find ten righteous or everyone in Sodom and Gomorroah die! There was no law by which to establish who was good or evil? How do you find any without a standard by which to judge what is right and wrong? After all Paul Said in Romans 7:7 I knew not sin but by the law!
Genesis 38:7 Er was killed by God for being wicked. (STILL NO LAW)

Just in what I've quoted is more deaths then Hitler caused! We call Hitlerr a monster for killing 3 million Jews! But you love a God that killed billions???

This God is pure EVIL!

Which God of the Bible?

The mean, jealous, hateful, vengeful God of the Old Testament, or The Loving, Good, Forgiving God of the New Testament?

Sad thing is, Man has created a False God in the Bible, for an all-loving, omnipotent God can not have human qualities.

So, which God do you love?

Because in this medium which is a secular one. That allows for more hatred to be spread at great animinity thus cowards can hide behind a fictional name, and cast all the hatred their little hearts can devise. They can spew their ugliness, with all the force they can, because they know that you can't touch them, or retaliate, against them, and what little you can do is so insignificant that it just imboldens them to be more grotesque, hateful and overflowing with every disgusting synaptic response that they have can produce, thus allowing them to catapult their evil minds to the extreme limit of their ungodly character that they can devise. They can go on and on and on - and they love it so - that is why - the bottom line is -

- If they persecuted Christ they will also persecute you as well!

Jesus told us we would be hated for loving and following Him.

But we are to remember that if the world hates you remember they hated Me first.

I love the God of the Bible too. He is the One and Only God.

Peace

Having Christianity force fed to one all of their lives, buying into it, and then finding out that it is just contrived myth, tends to make a lot of people angry. If, one day, you too attain enlightment, you'll be able to answer your own question in your own way. Good luck with that!

Jesus (Christ) is a name that divides mankind.

Matthew 10:34
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Because a lot of people over the centuries have done a lot of bad and evil things in the name of that God and that Bible. They are reacting to that.

Also, a lot of Bible thumpers are self-righteous jerks who only value the opinions of people that think exactly like them.

I don't know if these apply to you, but it's bad press for Bible-lovers everywhere...

I am a man who does not believe in God. And I hear more condemning and hatred for my stand. Why?
-Everyone feels that their group is persecuted against because they pay more attention to posts that are anti(their sect) than posts that are anti (other sects).
