I would recommend that you work through your local volunteer center. Most of them have websites that contain a database of local community volunteer projects that you can filter by your interests. You can find one-time, short-term, and long-term community service projects, and they usually provide the appropriate paperwork that you need for school as well.

The volunteer centers listed in these groups are there to connect you with meaningful volunteer opportunities that meet real community needs and match your interests.

If no volunteer center exists in your area, I would also recommend your local chapter of the United Way. They also specialize in connecting volunteers with community needs.

Good luck!

Youth Sports Associations rely on volunteers to work in concession stands, baseball organizations need help with their fields before games (like striping, watering etc.) Check with your local sports organizations. Babysitting for free can count towards community service hours (as needed for High School), but I am not sure if that counts if you need community service for a ticket or fine :-) Good Luck

A local food bank is a great place to volunteer for any age. You can work toward someone's account, like a church that utilizes the food bank. Therefore getting service hours you for, and benefitting the church as well.
