Hello all, the kids in my class are 3 years old- all too adorable. I need some good ideas for a cute bulletin board for the month of February- particularly, Valentine's Day. I do not want anything with using their finger or foot prints- that is way over-done.
So any cute, original ideas would be greatly appreciated.
OH! I also need a cute headliner for the bulletin board. You know like, assorted sweeties or something like that.
Any helpful information os GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!

This may be a little challenging for your kids, but you can try to see what kinds of answers they come up with. When I taught kindergarten, I did a bulletin board entitled Love is... A Friend is... Family Is...I went around and asked each child to tell me what they thought each of those things were. I put up one answer in each category for everyone. They came up with some pretty creative answers! I also like to do "Heart Butterflies". I cut out two large hearts and several small ones. Glue the two large hearts together at their points, and slide a clothespin in the middle for the body. Then glue a folded chenille stem to the top for antnnae (Tacky Glue). Decorate with googly eyes, the smaller hearts (peel and stick hearts work great as well), and glitter. Another one we did one year was "Cupid's Cuties". We took the children's photos with their arms outstretched and glued them onto hearts. Later, they took them home and gave them to their parents with the caption added, "I love you this much!"

Make a big green tree...put heart ,X and O's on it...In lettets write beside it or above it Love glows where it falls. Have some Hearts X's and O's falling...under the Love Tree put a green patch of grassy land and have Hearts, X's and O's growing making more Heart, X and O...
I made this up years ago for my kids and they love it still today.
I draw this all the time..most of the time i use it for my sig...lol
Love grows where It grows is the slogan for the board.
The name of the tree is a Love Tree.

We had our kids make hearts out of handprints. The entire hand is coated with paint and placed, fingers pointed inward and create a "v" with the hands.
The monthly magazine "mailbox" usually has really good bulletin board ideas also.
You can also create a valentine catipiller. Cut out small hearts of various colors and have the children over lap them so they create a catipiller. Works great when reading "The Very Hungry Catipiller". Finish off with pipe cleaners for anttene.

OH! Get pictures of the kids then put them each on small heart papers then put it around the board! You can also try designing a little box with windows inside them that have chocolate inside (if those aren't invented yet)! Maybe you can name it "Full of Love". Sorry, i'm not so good with that. Hope that helps. :)

go to your local walmart or similiar store, and buy a couple boxes of various valentine cards (you know, the kind kids give each other?) like batman, spiderman, narnia, barbie....then cut out the characters and put them around the edge of the bulletin board.
or, you could bring in a camera one day, a few feather boas, floppy hats (think dollar store kid dress up) for the girls, and things like suits of armor, fake swords, etc; and take pictures of each of the students giving either their prettiest princess look, or their best hero look. then print them out, cut them out, and post them on the board with hearts. if you wanted a headliner, umm how about maidens and knights?
another thought, get on the computer and google a picture of conversation hearts. then erase whatever message is in the heart and put someones name in it. use the different colors of the conversation hearts. then, using a piece of paper, cut out a fake "conversation hearts box" put some of the hearts 'in' the box, and some scattered around the bottom. :) then each kid has their own heart.

What about asking parents for an extra photo---or color copy. Use a cherub backplate with each child's face. A title could be Fall in Love with our Sweet Cerubs .

Use lots of puffy clouds with hearts in different colors (muted hearts).

How about~ are they using the scissors yet??If so show them how to fold construction paper in half and then draw a ice cream cone at an angle and show them how to cut it out and then they have made a heart. Then they have helped make the bulletin.may be" I scream you scream we all Love Ice cream" decorated with glitter and foam heart shapes>? you could use pinks & purplereds &yellows.like the heart candies.I agree hands and feet stuff is way over done and they have done that same thing for ever.
