Do you think Toyota's will win many races this year in the NEXTEL CUP?

I think the Toyota races teams will have limited success. The main problem is the B-grade list of drivers that will be driving for the Toyoya teams. Dale Jarrett was selected because the sponsorship goes with the driver and Dale Jarrett had UPS for his sponsor last year. He now drives for Michael Waltrip, in a Toyoya car, with his UPS sponsorship. UPS is a financially strong company.
It takes 2 or 3 years for a crew-chief, driver and crew to efficently work together. I know a lot of thought and preparation was used in putting together these teams but the familiarity needed to make these teams successful doesn't fall out of the sky and land in your lap. I truly hope these teams are successful because they employ a lot people. Unfortunately we only hear about the driver, crew chief and team owner.
The next problem is Michael Waltrip being an owner/driver. Those that have tried, with the exception of Allen Kulwicki, have all failed, as far as winning races and championships. The owner/driver is simply spread to thinly to be effective in both responsibilities.

The toyota nascar cars are going to be of the same performance level as the other three the difference will be the drivers and currently they don't have top level drivers.
Keep in mind that the nascar cars have nothing to with the street going models by the same manufacturers. All of the parts on the cup cars have to be tested and approved by nascar before they will allow them. Even between the big 3, the only body difference between the cars is the front and rear bumper design, the outline is the same. Nascar rules are designed around having close racing and making a good show for the fans.

Bottom line, toyota may win a few races this year if their drivers get lucky.

The thing I've noticed is that Toyota doesn't exactly have the best drivers in Nextel lined up like they do in the Craftsman Truck Series. Michael hasn't won a non-restrictor plate race. Jarrett has only one win in the last 3 years and it was at Talladega. Vickers has only one cup win. So, I don't see too many wins for them this year. As the years go by and they get better drivers, I think they will do quite well. I will be pulling for Ford drivers, especially Greg Biffle.

I think Toyota has done it's research. Toyota is not one to jump into something without tests and research. Look for them to be in the top 5 in one of every 3 races this year. Hopefully they will get decent drivers in the near future.

I think Toyota will be very competitive and like all the other cars have a great chance in winning. Alot depends on the crew also who has to perform maintenance on the cars while in pit row fueling changing tires adjusting the track bars etc.

Very little success will happen for them this year. They have average drivers at best, and its always difficult when going from a car you are comfortable in (Such as DJ in his UPS Ford) to a Toyota. If you think back to when Dodge entered the racing word again they had a major problem with chewing up the right front tire. They could go fast as hell, but after they hit the wall because of a tire failure 10 laps before they needed to pit, they were all left scratching their heads...

I look for them to have very little success if at all...

If the cars are as good as the trucks they have the drivers who can pull off the win. I hope Micheal Waltrip wins Daytona that would be awesome.
