I know a guy who recently met a chick at a party and they ended up having sex that same night. He tells me that they had been going at it for at least 20 minutes, in a few different positions when he was just about to climax she suddenly started saying "This isn't right, we have to stop." Well, because he was so close he didn't stop right away and she started to wig out. She got dressed and ran out and now leaves him messages accusing him of raping her. I'm not sure. Does rape occur after consentual sex has been going on for 20 minutes? What do you think?

Rape occurs any time someone involved says no or indicates they don't want to continue and the other party continues anyway. And sex does not have to be forcible to be rape. If one of the parties involved is under the influence and is too incoherent to actually give consent it can also be rape without having to use force. I also agree that there is probably more to this story than what your are prive to. There are 2 sides and only they know what actually took place. And ov course your friend is not going to tell a version of the story that makes him look guilty of anything. And further more, if I told a guy to stop (not matter how long we were involved in the act) and he didn't "stop right away", I would wig out also. Something made her uncomfortable enough to want to discontinue the act and your friend did not respect that- it IS rape.

Make sure you have the full story b/c something does not sound right here. It s a case of he said she said. This could be real bad. This also a good reason not to have sex with a damn stranger you just met that same night. That is very dangerous.

Rape starts when one of the consenting adults says NO or STOP! It does not matter how long it was going on and your boy could have taken care of business in his hand for goodness sake. It is technically rape.

Um... Well that's kind of difficult. If they stopped when she wanted him to stop, I guess it's not rape. But if he kept going and TRIED, forcibly, to have sex with her, then it's rape.

I would not exactly call it rape, but he should have stoped the sec she said for him to do so instead of thinking about " finishing up"
