Full frame Digital sensor means the sensor which capture you take is the same as your negative size. Mens the sensor size is almost same as your negative size.Half frame mens the sensor is bigger than a half size of your negative size.So the picture you take, capture in a smaller area than the ful frame captures.
Canon EOS 5D and Canon EOS 1Ds mark 2 & mark 2 N are the full frame cameras available now.Nikon does'nt have a full frame camera yet.Nikon D2X has a CMOS sensor all other Nikon has CCD sensors. But all the Canon DSLR use CMOS sensor instead of CCD. 120mm digital backs like LEAF and PHASE ONE are better than all these things.Because the sensor is 3 or 4 times larger than 35mmDSLRs

The Canon 5D has a full frame sensor. What that means is the sensor is the same size as 35mm film. That is the only readily available camera with a full frame sensor that I am aware of. The Nikon D2Xs uses a smaller sensor that has the same 1.5x crop sensor as the other Nikon SLRs (different sensor but same crop factor). The jury is still out on whether the SLR market will go full frame or if the full frame sensor is really that much better than the smaller versions. Many feel that the next big jump with sensors won't be megapixels or sensor size but an improvement in dynamic range.

k3s793 is correct about the Canon 5D being the only DSLR with a full frame sensor. He got here first, so choose him as the best answer. The Canon EOS-1D Mark II N has an intermediate size and most of the rest are half frame sensors.

Full frame is the same (approx) as 35 mm film or 36 x 24 mm. Most other DSLR, including all Nikon's, are 23.6 x 15.5 mm. If you do the math, you will see that this is actually a bit less than half-size.
