Ok, so I am planning on moving to England for about a year to go to school...but...I am going to base where I go on my taste in music. I know, impractical, but I am so used to living near cities with huge music scenes. I don't think I could live with out it. So any suggestions will greatly help. Thanks!

Of course Liverpool has always been huge with the music scene, and still does well today. As far as I know Manchester also has a fairly good music scene. They are both good sized cities and fairly close to each other. They both also have large universities. If I were you I'd move to Liverpool. Allowing me to be a part of the music scene there, and also in Manchester. Being in Liverpool you wouldn't be terribly far from Birmingham either. Good luck mate.

I think anywhere you go in England, you will find lots of great music. Plus, it's easy to get around the country to check out a band that may be playing in another city .

Take a time machine back to the early 90's Manchester. :)

Come to BIRMINGHAM!!!!!

Seriously, all other British cities are infested by chavs and they have chavtastic clubs like "Liquid" that play dance and crap like that.

If you want indie come to Birmingham. There's a really good indie scene here. Loads of bands play at the Birmingham Academy and there are some good clubs.

Incidentally Birmingham has two good universities as well...
