In Latin American countries, the comma is commonly used where North Americans would use a decimal point. So the medicine is 0.02 mg...which is 2/100 or 1/50th of one milligram. Equivalent to in what? Imperial measurements? 7.05479239 × 10-7 ounces, or 0.000308647167 grain ! Another way of looking at it would be that it weighs 1/5 of the amount a typical grain of table salt weighs! In other words it's hardly anything at all!

It's not just Latin American countries that use a comma in place of a period and vice versa when it comes to numbers. Most non-English speaking countries outside of North America who use western numerals do this. It's very common in Europe
