I am 22 years old, and on both sides of my family there has been alot of cancer. Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, 3 of my granparents have had cancer. The last few days have been a nightmare for me, I keep getting headaches and it feels like my brain is going to explode through my skull, i have been dizzy, sharp pains through my body in different spots, I have very bad memory loss, on the same day I forgot my purse in the store and locked my keys in the apartment, whenever I pick up my son from daycare or anywhere I always have to turn around and make sure he is in the car, I have been feeling very sick to the stomach, I have numbness in my arms and hands, to the point I can not turn the taps for water. I looked up cancer signs and these symptoms are on there. So now I am like freaking out. I do have a cold, and I have been tired the last few days. But I am so scared now, and I am scared to go and see a doctor. So can someone tell me if these symptoms are due to a cold? And not to worry so much

I am not being a hypochondriac just because my family has cancer. But now a days the cancer rate is just getting to high, and all these kids left and right with cancer. Its very scary and its hard not to worry about being sick and not knowing about it.

Even though you're afraid of going to the doctor, I think that is your best solution to finding out what is making you feel so ill.
Since you said that you have a cold, I'm wondering if you're taking medications for it? (especially Sudafed/pseudophedrine to dry your nasal passages).
You could just be sensitive to it and are having side effects from it. TELL YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU ARE PRESENTLY TAKING ANY MEDICATIONS AT ALL, AND WHAT DOSAGES OF EACH.
Also, some of the otc "shot-gun" cold remedies can create "weird" feelings IN SENSITIVE PEOPLE...dizziness, problems with feeling alert, nervousness, tingling in the legs and/or feet, nausea, and a host of other problems if you're sensitive to any of the ingredients in the medicine you're taking. Also, you should talk with your doctor about the things that you mentioned in your question that I'm answering. (be sure to tell the doctor everything.)
He/she will probably be able to find out what your actual problem is in just 1 or 2 office visits. Getting checked out immediately will be the best way to find out what is making you feel ill and you will feel more in control of your own health and will know what you can do to help yourself get well.) And, by the remote chance that it is something more serious, then you will have done the right thing to go to your doctor and get the proper treatment.

By the way, if you're taking "Benadryl", which is also used alone or in combination with other drugs for a cold, it can cause sleepiness, a strange crawling sensation in the "extremities" like your hands, legs & feet especially, sometimes it can even make a person's scalp feel like there's something "crawling" all over it.
Take care, and please go to your doctor as soon as possible-if nothing else, you will at least confirm your feelings about having a cold, and feel better just knowing that that's all it is. (The doctor can give you advice for reducing the symptoms until the cold is gone!) Best wishes for a happy and healthy new year!

How can any of us tell you that?????????All you have to do is call the dr and ask him/her to set up an appt for you for either an MRI or CAT scan xray. Common sense should tell you this is the only way to be sure. It's probably nothing. If it IS a brain tumor, the soon they detect it the sooner they can get it out and you can go on living a noraml life. Chances are it's nothing but the only way to know for sure is to do what I told you.

Please go to the doctor. The more stressed you become over it, the worse it will get. It could be just the stress. I understand the worry, but only a doctor and some tests will tell you for sure. The longer you wait, you will just become more stressed and worried. Most of all--good luck

It isn't necessarily cancer. It could be anything. Whatever it is, it could be able to be treated. But only a doctor knows that.

BUT not going to the doctor will give you no chance of feeling better, getting the issue treated, finding out what it is or having any of your questions answered.

GO. Please.

The flu can have those bad side effects, but if it persists, do your self a favour and see a doctor.

Don't be a hypochondriac because of you family history. Get checkups but don't let it eat away at you.
