i have a friend, shes dating a guy who is really jealous. she can never go anywhere [even alone] without him calling [literally] every 10 min asking where she is, what shes doing and who shes with. hes broken up with her several times because he "over-reacted" thinking she did something [when she never did]. could this relationship possibly turn abusive?

Yes, and it probably will get abusive if it hasn't already. I too was in a relationship like this and at first thought it was because he cared so much.
Your friend needs to look at herself and see why she is staying with this person.
Relationships like this start off with the yelling and screaming then he'll push her or even slap her. After a while it will get even worse. Please try and talk to your friend and if she gets away no matter what he promises (to change; never act like that again) to stay out of a relationship with him. It is hard but believe me the emotional scaring that is taking place can only get worse.
Good luck.

He's just being protective in his own way. You should just mind your own business because this can turn around on you. I know you're just watching over your friend, but I'm sure if she's being abused, she'd act different. From your description, I don't see it being abusive, yet. Who knows? Things happen. Does he have a temper?

YES!!!

Get her out of it. I was in a similar situation many years ago, and it was awful to get out, but i couldnt be happier now that its over, and wish i had escaped sooner, but i was too afraid. And i never listened to my friends when they told me it was getting bad. Take care of her, and dont let this man let her do this to her anymore. She deserves a trusting, caring relationship. It wont get better. Best of luck.

Absolutely. This guy's got some major control issues and it could really get dangerous. She should just end it immediately. He obviously doesn't trust a single thing she does.

Yes it could, he sounds obsessed with this girl. Obviously he doesn't trust her and without trust there can be no relationship. Next time they break up it should be for good.
