I have severe back problems and have a cortizone injection in each hip every three months. I don't feel much change for a day or so and then I get good relief. I don't have to stay off my feet after the injections. However, I have so much chronic pain that I am not very mobile anyway.

my personal experience with cortizone shots have been in my ankle so not really sure how they'll affect the back. i do know that the first time I couldn't walk for 3 days because it hurt to much and the second time I couldn't walk for a little over a day because of the pain. what didn't happen was any relief from the pain prior to the injection. i've been told you have to be careful with cortizone injections because it can damage surrounding tissue. hope it helps you though.
