when I pray everyday and read gods word, I feel peace and help in all things. when I dont everything gets out of control and I say and do things i regret. It protects me because god is with me .

Because.....it lifts you up to God. Its a direct line to communicating with the All Mighty God !
When we pray it brings us closer to God, and the more we pray the closer we get to God. Our relationship with Him grows and He listens to us and starts answering us...God is so Great !
The Bible says draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Praying draws us near to God.
