The person that was purported to be Jesus may have been crucified but not on a cross. The cross wasn't used til a long time after the time of his death. It would have been a stake......a straight post with no crossbar.
The writer of the stories used the cross because that was what was used in the day and age the writer lived. So he wasn't really "crucified" because that word indicates a cross was used.........I guess he was staked.

No, Jesus was not crucified. Romans decided to crucify him after the case instigated against him by the Jewish elders or rabbis. However, the Quran describes the situation such that Almighty God planned and created confusion among those who were responsible for the execution of the sentence and in this confusion another man, not innocent but deserving it, was substituted for Jesus, and Jesus was raised to heavens by the best of the planners, Almighty God to return later.
Is it beyond God to do do so, who can give human a brain to do wonderful thing with it but then He cannot suspend that ability for a little while as it happens with so many miracles? Surely He can do such things. It is within His power.

Probably. There were many jews crucified by the Romans at the time, it's exactly what would have happened to a young upstart, or anyone who questioned the Emperor.

It's a lot easier to believe that he was crucified than to believe he was the Son of God.

Yes because they have Roman records to prove it. I trust the romans more than I do the bible, thats for sure. Besides, claiming you were God's son back then would just make people mad and the Romans crucified many people. That was their favorite form of Execution, so It's not that hard to believe that he died on a cross, but he sure didn't pay for my sins!

Crucifixion was a disgrace - Even Christians refused to depict crucifixion in art for several centuries. According to the Jewish Law, anyone who was 'hung' was cursed, including crucifixion victims. In Roman culture, crucifixion was the equivalent of the electric chair - it carried the stigma of an executed criminal.

So, why in the world would anyone want to make up crucifixion? Among Jews and Gentiles of the time there were hundreds of deaths that were far more noble. Who in their right mind would try to advertise a religious message involving a disgraceful, cursed and criminal execution?

accept this answer with an open mind. both the bible and the quran states that jesus / prophet isa was crucified for standing his grounds and beliefs in GOD's religion back then (thus the creation of Christianity beliefs but still half way to Islam [cos it was officialize by prophet Muhammad]) therefore, yes, he was put to cross and nailed in hard. bless his soul...

Yes but he did not die from it.

There are written histories in Tibet and Kashmir that tell about his life there after the Crucifixion.

They even have carvings of his feet showing the nail marks at his burial site.

Love and blessings Don
