The only mistake does not come from the most ignorant president this great country ever had, the only mistake (s) I have to say we see every day ( saddly to say ) comes from the few ignorant people who support Bush and the war. This is the people who either have no balls to go to war ( so they rather to see someone else go to faight for a worthless war ) or they want to go to war because they have no other skills. We need to stop creating more problems outside if we have not fixed the ones we have inside the country. Viertnam was very clear, even if so many of the ignorant supportes don't remeber it, in that ocassion, the president made the same mistake and what did we got from Viertnam? just be honest to yourself, you will not be here here at yahoo, just like you are not trying to send more people to kill other people.

I tried to lay the strategy out...it took too much space and nobody will read it anyway. The house to house searches work only if the people in the area know you are coming back on a regular basis and with more frequency. Otherwise, the insurgents just moved in and out at will because the patrols were too sporadic. We have not had the manpower to do this. With the extra troops, we will. And no, he never said the war was a mistake, but said the methods used were.
And I see the hateblinded group is out in force. No matter what the man did, this group of whiners would find fault. Walking on water, all of them.

in my opinion the mistake was not sending a massive amount of troops in there in the first place and locking down the country and disarming them and gradually giving them their freedoms back as they earned them...watch what happens...if we dont win this time we will have to go to war in the mid east within 20 years and it will be a totally different kind of war..we will have to send a half million or so troops and annihilate some countries...its either them or us...and they dont care which....so we shouldnt worry about the political correctness of killing while we are there...you should be praying that this works...because the next time will be brutal, as it should have been the first time....

He did not say the war was a mistake, he said the way the war was handled had mistakes.
Now, he has gave a new plan on how to use our troops the way they should have been used in the first place.
Even I know you don't fight to take ground, just to give it up for the enemy to retake it.

I could say " grow a spine and join the military, so that you can see first hand the good and beneficial things that our people have done there", but most of you liberal, mamby-pamby, gutless, spineless, Non-Military, Marxist communists do nothing more than criticize.
Take a Good, Hard Look at History since the Revolutionary war.
We, the United States, are the strongest because we defend the weak and the oppressed.
Let's just say ....you may not have heard what you thought you heard, maybe just what you wanted.
Thank a Vet!!! Thanks guys!!!

He did not admit he made a mistake, he said "The situation in Iraq is unacceptable to the American people -- and it is unacceptable to me. Our troops in Iraq have fought bravely. They have done everything we have asked them to do. Where mistakes have been made, the responsibility rests with me."
That to me sounds like he is saying, "the troops screwed up, but I take the responsibility for their mistakes."
I say bring Haliburton's "free oil pipeline guards" home NOW !!!!!!!!!

You obviously were not paying attention to him, but thinking about how you could bash him.
He admitted that the mistakes were all sparked from not having enough troops there to maintain law and order.
He in no way said that going into Iraq was a mistake. Quit rewriting history.

The war wasn't a mistake. Our president said mistakes were made. War is dynamic.A chess match. Missteps and mistakes happen in war. We will not lose this tiny war no matter what the democrats say.Yes i said tiny. the 3,00 dead soldiers show how small this war is. Look at the dead counts for any other war.

He had to do something and it was either pull out troops or put a few in and if may just buy him enough time to finish his term and pass the buck.
