We stay in Singapore- planning to get a fridge but unsure what are the important things to look at, eg energy efficiency, capacity, compartment layout.. Its mainly for the two of us for now but hopefully can satisfy a family of 4 next time?

For price, forget about Courts because only certain economic group take expensive hire purhchase. Fridges there are priced in suspicious neat bands such as $699, 799, 899 etc.
Forget about Mustafa, cheap but no warrantties (they tell you lies, and deliveryman pretend not to understand English).
Go for those with green energy saving labels. Get one bigger than the one you think you'll ever need. But you pay more electricity if you go for the largest size. Consider 3 doors, the middle one can be converted into a freezer or just for story fruits and vegetables. Forget about drink and ice dispensers, more parts to break down, just simple shelves and side doors that can hold 1.5 liters bottles or large size jars.

buy one that has a water/ice , dispenser. saves a lot of time. and energy from openning the fridge just to get a pitcher of water.

and buy a large one since you'll be having it for like 15 years before replacing it
