I recently gained 5 pounds or so and would like to lose it again but I have a hard time motivating myself to eat better, eat less and work out more. I have a healthy body image with no eating disorders or problems...I would just like to healthfully lose a few pounds. Any good suggestions to help me get motivated to do it?

I have recently heard (on the Today show I think) that people who weigh themselves once daily (or so) tend to be closer to healthy weights than those who don't. I know that when I weigh myself daily, my eating is smarter and tends to be more healthy. Hope that helps!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

When I need to feel motivated I buy a cute new workout outfit, and the go to gym just to show off my cute outfit. Or I find a picture of an extremely obese person on the internet and cut out my head and put it on their body. I put the picture on the refrigerator door and the pantry door so I can remind myself what I'll look like if I keep eating! It really helps. Good luck losing those couple of pounds!

Where I work, a group of us formed the "greatest loser" club. We have set our own goals and will all do what ever "diet" works for us. We will all weight in each Monday morning for the next 14 weeks. We have all chipped in $2 for small reward prizes.
At 4 weeks, the biggest loser will get a prize....and so on!
I can tell you, when you are accountible to a group - you don't want to cheat! We all support each other too - and that makes it fun! Good luck!

p.s. - My son is graduating from high school this year - so I am trying to imagine myself in the family graduation pictures being about 20 lbs lighter! I am sure you probably have some kind of goal for this spring or summer, too. That is what's motiviating me!

you sound like me. I used this delicious shake once a day instaed of meal, it was tasty and easy to put together. I lost my few pounds and now I just use it to get all the protein/vitamins and nutrition etc. I got it from www.myhealthabc.com you just fill in your details and then you can see the full range of products. Someone will contact you and ask you what you want to achieve and based on that they give you advice and coach you through. If you jsut want the stuff then they will do that aswell and email you to make sure okay and taking it how they advise. The people who run it are real nice and helpful. It sure worked for me.

See site below and learn healthy eating and you will be thin for life. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event.

Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Books and magazines are inspirations, and good tools for starts but sound advice is probably the best Nutritional almanac is a really good tool so you can learn what foods work well for the body and maybe choosing bodybuilding magazines helped me at one time and maybe a particular bodybuilder man or woman can inspire you but deep down inside is what it takes. Like Nike says just do it.

All you need to do is just tear out a page out of a magazine that has a person who you wish to have the same body as....that should keep your motivation running. Goodluck!

Reverse your breakfast and supper meal. Eating a lighter meal in the evening I would think is better than chowing down and then going to bed. 5lbs??? I wouldn't be to concerned unless your gaining that every week. Good luck

Go to the mall every day and look at that size you would like to get into. That should motivate you.
