If the economy is bad where YOU live, take it up with your local and state governments. Where I'm at, things are absolutely BOOMING. When I was in Chicago last year, it seemed pretty similar - they were building like mad. Washington state, same thing.
Hell, we have such a surplus of jobs here that several restaurants and stores close periodically due to not having enough employees. If that's your idea of a bad economy, wtf would a good one look like??

Good thing that you love trickle down economics because as many Republicans that just lost their jobs this last election, that's just what will be happening to their bank accounts--trickling down.

Supply side economics (also called trickle down) is the biggest public policy farce ever put in place. It has never worked, not under Reagan, or either Bush. During all of those administrations spending was shifted from payed by taxes to paid by debt.
The problem is that the entire concept was based on a economic experiment performed in Chile under Pinochet dictatorship, after which a few powerful people become vastly enriched while the economy of the country collapsed. Bravo.

Republican Principles
I'm a Republican Because...
I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.
I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.
I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.
I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.
I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.
I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.
FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

We also stood for lower taxes which did indeed contribute to economic growth. Bush has become involved in a war which is now unpopular, so was world war II by the time it was over.
The American will to fight and win is so compromised by our micro-wave want it now generation. If we had world war II now, we would want to pull out after 1943....
We are still in one of the greatest economic booms of all time, let's find a way to not credit Republicans with that.

Republicans love big government. The 50% increase last ten years in size of federal government tells the true love of Republicans. All the regulations and new government employees along with it will damage the economy long term unlike anything we have ever seen. This build up is unprecedented. Once the 20% increase in tax revenues from the strong economy slows as the economy slows, there will be far less money to trickle down as the economy will slow sharply. The Asians won't lend us the huge $ we need so we will indeed see the trickle slow.

Been there done that, it did not work under Reagan. It did not work under Bush Sr., We have a $9 trillion Debt and the war in Iraq will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion over the next ten years.
132 million tax payers filed returns in 2004. Half made under $30,000 per year. Those making over $1 million got the biggest tax cuts, those in the Middle income paid HIGHER taxes not lower. According to the CBO report. Working class tax payers have been taken again. For most of their adult life they will pay for this madness by Republicans.
