If you flip the key open you will see a small cross ways slot at about the mid point of the side of the key. You can stick a screwdriver blade into the slot and seperate the key from the remote. Then you have to pry off the back of the remote to access the battery. The remote does not have to be reprogrammed after replacing the battery.

If it has the built in key, like other European cars, you might not be able to. Otherwise there should be, on the fob, an indented spot for a coin or screwdriver(Flathead), where you can separate the halves. They usually operate on a coin cell battery. In a good parts store, you can usually find someone to help you.

Pry it open with a screwdriver and go to Radio Shack for the replacement. You may then have to reprogram it at the dealer, unless you want to read the book.
