There should be only one reason why and that reason should be because you really want to have a family. If you want people to tell you why, them maybe you aren't ready to have children yet.
Having a Baby isn't something you should do or have because your friends are having them, or your family is saying I think that It's about time for you to give me some grandchildren. You have to feel it in your heart and soul. Having babies is the most wonderful gift and a wonderful experience that anyone could possible imagine and hope for. Lets face it when you are in your fifties or sixty it to late to look back and say I wish I had started a family, someone to share my memories and dreams with like my Mom had done for me. You will know when the time is right for you to start, just follow you heart, It won't steer you wrong.

I can't tell you any good reasons to have children. My son was a surprise but he was the best surprise I could ever have. The things you experience while being pegnant will change you. Feeling the baby move for the first time, hearing the heartbeat, seeing him on the ultrasound for the first time: those are things you will never forget.it is a wonderful experience. i enjoy every minute of it.

I didn't think I was ready, but hearing the heartbeat for the first time brought out the mother in me.

I have three kids and if you get a good answer please let me know. I don't know what I was thinking when he said lets have one and another and another.....Sometimes love is blind and other times we are just plain crazy to go along with some of the things asked of us....( I'm talking about me) The three I have are a handful and the only light i see at the end of the tunnel is when i am old and gray, someone will be there to look after me...hopefully. Kids now a days are awful and have no respect for anyone or anything. I am not neccessarily talking about my children because i try my hardest to raise respectful children.. but it's hard to compete with outside influences. Good luck on finding an anwser.

I never thought I wanted children (mom at 36 for the first time) - but it's the best thing I've ever done. Imagine a piece of your heart that has been completely un-used and once you have a child it unlocks a door to that piece of your heart. Your capabilities of loving something increase by a thousand fold. Impossible to completely understand until you experience it yourself.

My married friends without children always tell me. "I don't know what you are talking about?" They say they love their husbands with all their heart !! Here's what I tell them...

If someone were to break into your home with gun you would hope your husband would shield you from the assailant and take a bullet for you if necessary....but...if someone were to break into your home with a gun you would throw yourself ontop of you child and pray that you'd be the one to take the bullet for them.

See the difference?

After ten years of marriage our birth control didn't work and suprise, a baby. The best mistake of my life. Here's my top three reasons. It's not as hard as I thought, didn't change the good things in my life as much as I thought, and this child brings way more joy and perspective to my life than I could have every imagined.

Having your child, either a boy or a gril, is one of the miracles of life. I believe that having a child of your own is one the best thing that can happen to a couple. A child is a 'bundle of joy' because the parents experience the happiness of seeing their own 'replica' grow and learn to call them 'Dad' or 'Mom' which parents value very much. A child makes it also possible for parents to 'recreate' their life such as when they rear a child in way different from the misguided way they were brought up. A child also makes possible for parents to transfer their fortunes to someone truly of their own flesh and blood especially for a boy who carries the family name through another generation. Lastly, parents leave this world happy believing that they have left someone beautiful to continue whatever things they've left unfinished.

With over 6.5 billion people on the planet, I'm afraid I cannot come up with a good enough excuse to have them.

Oh wait I don't have kids anyways.

Carry on.

Among other things, I had kids so I could share all the fun holidays and traditions with them.
Christmas and Easter were kinda boring and lonesome without little people to set it all up for!
