I think most born-agains can point to a specific time and place where they had an eye-opening experience regarding what God is really all about, and from that day forward their attitude toward God changes dramatically.
People who don't claim the term were probably raised in the Christian faith and have always assumed God is on His throne and everything is well.
I think only God can know and name who's heart has a personal relationship with Him. Whether people use the born again term or not.

The born againers will say that anyone that has not done the 'born again' prayer is not a 'true' christian. They are wrong. The rest of the Christians do not point to them and say that they are not 'true' Christians because if they believe that Jesus is the Christ and that he died and rose from the dead, and are following His teaching, they are Christians. Small minded people of all religions are the ones that judge. Also Father K, above, is right about Baptism.

Most people that call themselves Christian are not even close to any real Christ that ever lived but people living in the falsified memory of the most exploited and amended person in the history of modern man . If the churches asked their laity to send
money for the rehab of the devil because Christ wanted that way they would follow without much question . Face it 2,000 years is a long time when it only took one generation to corrupted the man named Jesus. I seriously doubt that he didn't hedge his disbelief in
supreme beings before the aftermath took over.
this is why he never returns as predicted ! You can't take born agains serious when the original is not true to begin with .
It's just re-affirmed gullibility in misleading info.
peace out

No. I am a born-again Christian, and I do not categorize myself as just a Christian because I am aware of how so many that call themselves Christians are only so in name only. However in conversations I sometimes omit the " born-again" part because it is neither the time or the place to explain the details. And I also have many black friends that are " born-again" so I would not categorize us all to be white anglo-saxons, no.

Some people may say they are born again, but are not changed on the inside. They may be baptized, be confirmed or walk the isle a dozen times and it never made a bit of difference in their lives. Only if one has ask Christ to forgive and determined to let Christ change him/her so he/she becomes that new creation in Christ. Then you see a change, old things are passed away. Of course born again Christian aren't perfect, but if there isn't a change in the life style and pattern especially in his/her love for others then you are probably safe in saying they are not born again. God says you can tell a tree by it's fruit. I didn't. We all have to look at the core of our being, ask ourselves if changes
are coming from within or do we still want to have the old attitudes towards other people. Born again Christians are never satisfied with themselves on the inside, but should be changing.

Christians means Christ like. He is our example. He has accepted us. He died for our sins. We are born again. Some use this term but they are not walking in truth. Satan sends his people to be fake Christians so that the world will question Christianity. Do not be fooled by these false Christians, they are not of us. Focus on God and not on people.

Yes, those are the "born again"s. Some of them are O.K., but the majority aren't. Megachurches are dehumanizing places, where the preacher becomes a star. When they refer to themselves as Christians, they probably also refer to people who don't think their way as not Christians. I would imagine a number of them are pro-war, pro-Bush too. Just let them be. Eventually they'll see the light.

Not exactly. If they don't understand what it really means to be a Christian, they are not born-again. I would question first if you are (since your question did not indicate), and if you are, to pray for the people you are concerned about that may not know the 'truth' so they not be deceived and come to know Jesus. If you are concerned about their salvation, the best thing to do for God's glory and enlarge His Kingdom, and to satisfy your answer would be to ask them instead of us, since we do not know them personally. You can always ask yourself, What Would Jesus Do? You could also search your Bible or pray about this, or talk to your pastor. Hope this helps somewhat. Good Luck. May God bless you abundantly!

no longer constantly. notwithstanding, no one is surely a Christian except they are born returned-it relatively is the variety one requirement. maximum human beings of people who % out themselves as Christian are relatively no longer. they could belong to a pair church or denomination, or could have been baptised with tips from some priest-yet none of that makes you a Christian. Jesus stated in John 3, "you should be born returned". He replaced into chatting with Nicodemus, the non secular instructor of Israel. Nicodemus replaced into approximately as non secular as you will get-Jesus replaced into telling him -that wasn't sufficient.
