It depends on the sandwich. I am extremely particular about my sandwiches.
Cuts by Type:
Sub- middle
Wrap- middle on a diagonal
Sliced Bread Sandwich (Tuna)- across
Sliced Bread Sandwich (Turkey, Roast Beef, etc.)- no cut
Sliced Bread Sandwich (Cheese and Veggies only) - middle

I dunno, my grandma always cut it down the middle, but my mom cut it across... so it depends on where I am. At my grandma's down the middle and at mom's across. If I eat a sandwich other than those 2 places its normally Subway!

Across. The pieces always seem to look bigger to me cut diagonally.

My mom always cut them on the diagonal
like an X
so they looked like little triangles.
Yummy!

for me it depends. . .
PB&J I cut in the middle,
sandwitches that have lettuce and tomatoe I cut across,
grilled cheese - across,
BLT - in the middle,
French Dip in the middle but also on the diagonal,
Tuna - across,
Tuna Melt - double cross,
I'm done.
