First, I am not a homophobe. I understand how a non Christian can believe that homosexuality is an acceptable "lifestyle". That person does not make their moral judgments based upon the Word of God. What I don't understand is how Christians, who should make their moral judgments based upon the Word of God can believe that homosexuality is acceptable to God. It appears to me that God's word is quite clear on this subject. What should concern Christians who believe it is acceptable is that this scripture doesn't just condemn those who ARE homosexual it also condemns those who condone it.

This scripture condemns not only homosexuality but also envy, murder, gossip, slander, wickedness, God hating, faithlessness, etc. Why would a Christian accept the sinfulness of these things and not homosexuality when the same verse also condemns homosexuality? To be honest we must believe what God has said. All these things are detestable to God INCLUDING homosexuality.

Rom 1:22-2:1

22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools
23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.
29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,
30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;
31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Sorry, but this scripture indicates that these people MADE A CHOICE to to BECOME homosexual. They were not born that way.

No crusade here. I wrote this question in response to several questions I have seen that just perplexed me. That Christians seemed to be ambiguous about this concept when scripture is anything but ambiguous.

I believe there is a deeper issue here. Those who call themselves Christians but yet support homosexuality, need to examine the definition of sin. Sin in its most basic definition would be doing something bad against a Holy God. I just finished reading a book where the author said that when we lose our fear of the Lord, then we begin to look at sin differently and begin to accept sinful actions as being okay. So in conclusion, they first need to look at weather they truly understand the heart of the gospel. That is where it is all laid out. We are all wretches but it is only by God's grace that we can be saved. Secondly, they also need to examine whether they believe God's word in its entirety, because if they claim to do so...then there should be no issues here.

The answer is simple - they are not Christians - you cannot be a Christian and approve of these type of life styles.

Anyone can claim anything - but on Judgment day Jesus will claim His followers and all else will parish.

***Any of these idiots who think homosexuals did not exist back in Bible times needs to take another look at the Bible - simply because you have not read it and secondly it does teach against such life styles.

I myself am a Christian, and I know many other Christians. I know nobody who agrees with homosexuality in my circle of Christian friends. Maybe you are mis-understanding, could it be that Christians you have talked to have said they love everyone, as Christ loves us all? Loving someone because they are made in the image and glory of God, does not mean we agree with their choices. It simply means that we love them, because,while we were in sin and unbelief, Christ Jesus still loves us.
Not everyone who claims to be a Christian, is truly a follower of Christ Jesus. Maybe try talking to a different group of Christians.
Ones who dont practice political correctness, rather, they live by every word from the lips of Christ Jesus. God Bless You.

Yes, you are a homophobe since you have chosen to look beyond the sins that you struggle with. If you believe that God's grace covers your particular sins, why wouldn't the sins of a homosexual be covered. Maybe what you're really saying is what the Sadducees and Pharisees were saying: my "works" are better then yours. So go ahead and depend on your works. In the mean time, I'll depend on God's work through Jesus that told me to love everyone.

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Or will you cherry pick your way out of this because it's less comfortable than the homosexual bashing?

True Christians know God loves the sinner but hates the sin, for their sins separate them from God.

We, as Christians, need to love our neighbors as ourselves. If we were still stuck in some sexual addiction, wouldn't we want others to be nice. So? We need to walk in love & forgiveness toward those commiting adulteries & fornications.

I still call adulteries & fornications sin, but then Jesus forgave me my sins and cast them far from me, so I need to forgive others.

God didn't say any of those things. Men wrote them and reported that they are what God said. It is not the way God feels, it is the way some humans feel. Why are you crusading against homosexuality? Don't you have bigger fish to fry?

if they are true Christians they would know being a homosexual is definitely is not OK with god. he considers it an abomination to his nostrils the way the scriptures put it.

Christians can literally believe anything. The bible has so many errors and internal contradictions that attempting to use it as a guide for anything is a complete waste of time. From an incorrect premise, any conclusion follows.
