I had a similar problem with my 91 Deville. Turned out the was carbon build up in the exhaust system, essentially, the car was choking. Just an Idea, you'd have to take it to a mechanic.

more than likely its the fuel filter. It starves for fuel, and will shut itself down. or not get enough to raise the RPM'S. Take the fuel filter off, and blow the same way fuel should go through it. If it blows hard, that's your problem...

make sure all connections are tight from battery terminals to the thick red cables surrounding the battery to the frame of car. if that doesn't solve your problem have both your battery and alternator check. keep it simple. HOLLA!

start small - try to replace the fuel filter first - only $3 or less if you do it

Clogged fuel filter or fuel pump. There isn't one specific answer on here. I have to be there.
