Or will a yeast infection take hold in my neck because of the yeast in the beer?! That's what my boyfriend says.

Drink the beer you poor thing - it will help numb and sooth the throat. If you are worried about yeast, I would plan on gargling with warm salt water before bed.

Peace!

Your boyfriend is, er, mistaken (I was going to say "full of it"...). Drink a beer if that's what you want - the yeast in the beer isn't the same kind that causes yeast infections; if it were, you'd have had an infection LONG ago, cold or not.

Drink a beer, it won't cause an infection from the yeast. I've had plenty of beer when I've had a cold and I'm just fine

I dont' know if its safe or not, but I have found it soothing to the throat for some reason. And I have never had a yeast infection in my throat

Of course you can still drink beer when you have a sore throat/cold. Just be careful about mixing alcohol with precription or cold medications you may be taking.
