There are things you can do to help yourself.
First, exercise creates endorphins that elevate your mood.
Second, check what you are eating; fatty foods, a lot of carbs, sodas, sweets, all are not good and actually help to create low moods. Alcohol is a depressant too, stay away from it.
Third, control your thoughts, replace negative ones with positive ones.
Forth, make sure you are getting at least 15-20 minutes of sunlight daily. If not, you may want to take some Vit. D suppliments.

There are a lot of things you can do for depression. The first thing is to see a reputable psychiatrist to see if you need medication or if you can be treated without it. A good counselor can help you with suggestions to get through daily activities. Sometimes, small changes in routine can make a big difference. The most important thing is to have a good support group. Surround yourself with family and friends who are understanding and who can help you when you're having a rough time. Reach out to people. You'll be surprised to see how many people really care about you, and that will help you through the sad times. Best of luck to you.

See a counselor each week--they can help you deal with things. Everyone feels depression at times. If I am going thru a tough time--I use that as an excuse to get a weekly massage. Reporting to someone even if it is for a massage helps. Depression is very painful. Don't let it get any worse. You might want to see a dr. Any kind of dr. I found it difficult to try to talk to friends. I needed more help than that and I did'nt want to bother friends. My therapist saved my life.
