The "arguments" mostly come from the creationist side. Evolution, shows evidence, where as all of the evidence for creationism is "because the bible says so." Which isn't necessarily true, but I'm not going to get into that right now.

The evidence that shows Evolution as an extremely plausible theory is as follows:

Fossil records - Archaeologists are able to follow the evolutionary paths of various animals, including man, by looking very closely at the fossil records.

Observations of living organisms - Biologists have charted small but noticeable changes in living plants and animals, which is referred to as micro evolution, if small changes happen over a short period of time, the logical conclusion is that much greater changes must happen over much longer periods of time.

Just those two factors alone, and the fact that they support each other, should be more than enough to support the theory of evolution, and in the minds of scientists they are. I'd like to see such incontrovertible evidence for creationism. Evidence that can stand up to the scrutiny of science.

There really is no such thing as "Darwinism". Darwin introduced new information regarding the evolving of species - of birds, for instance - to adapt to changing circumstances. From there it was possible to begin to understand the whole process of evolution. Evolution is not an "ism" either -it's an accurate description of adaptation allowing survival in changing circumstances such as local climate change over time.
One should read much, much more about evolution before attempting an intelligent discussion of the topic. And be aware that Darwin never said man descended from apes, nor has any reputable scientist since.

That a creature better able to survive in it's environment (finding food, escaping predators etc) has a better chance of surviving and breeding, and thus such creatures become dominant over those less suited to the environment.

Evolution is the process by which mutations occur, and the mutations that result in a better chance of survival become more common, as they are spread through breeding more than others. Mutations that lower chances of survival have the opposite effect, whereas mutations with no bearing on survivability should remain relatively level. Over a long enough time frame, all the tiny changes stack up to massively seperate the final creature from it's ancestral version.

As this happens differently in different environments, you get different kinds of creatures surviving.

Darwinism does not say anything about where the original creatures come from, just how the form of subsequent generations become skewed by environmental factors.

Darwin believed in evolution-- a process that describes change when organisms try to adapt to their environment. when a change occurs that is beneficial to the organism, it is spread through natural selection (survival of the fittest). the trait is passed down to the offspring and if it is beneficial it helps that particular kind of organism survive more.
an example is a mutation of dark color for mice on dark rocks. when predators look for them they would be spotted easily if they had white colored skin. the mutated mice with dark skin would become more common as they reproduced and survived while the white ones were more easily killed. soon, the dark mice would become the norm. the mice would be evolved to be more "fit" to survive in that environment.

Try the biology section. Or Wikepedia.

But Darwinism? Evolutionary theory has moved on somewhat in 200 years.
