I never watched our parakeets when we had them, but we used to have a quaker parrot, however he lost a fight with the cat.
He did a lot of funny and mean things. He would bite someone and then say, "Don't bite!" Whenever he wanted a piece of food from someone he would say, "Bite?"
The funniest time ever though was when my brother was being teased and then he started crying. He walked out of the room but he passed the bird cage and the bird said, "Hi baby."

I want a bird but my mom isn't an animal person so I'l probably get one when I go off to college in less than 2 years. Anyway, me and my dad were at a pet store and he let a bird on his arm, and it climbed up to his shoulder, then climbed onto his ballcap, and chewed the button on top of my dad's hat off an then flew away with its new prize. It as really funny.

My Eclectus parrot learned to open his cage door. My two cats love to play with his toys from outside the cage so he jingled them and they came into the cage. Then he locked himself and the two cats inside!!! I've never seen a bird look pleased with himself until that day, even though it got a bit cramped in there. I got a better (escape-proof) cage because he did it a few times after that and I got tired of bathing the cats.

My african grey was hanging upside-down from the kitchen cupboards directly above the sink when I was doing something in there. There was some water in the sink...he lost his grip on the cupboard and fell in (he was perfectly fine - I'm sure he was embarrassed, though). My grey is a wise guy. Parrots love to show off - they always want to be the centre of attention.

My male budgie got a new female after the other one flew away and i caught him doing the wild thing with her, while i was watching through a window. I never seen him do that before. I thought they bred like chickens. They don't. Roosters jump on the hens back and pick the hell out of her neck feathers. My male budgie did her from behind, but he still picked at her neck feathers. I didn't realize budgies did it doggie style.

I have 2 stories...first one my female cockatiel used to wave her vent in my partners face guess she thought he was her mate she even laid eggs. Second I have a sun conor that regurgitates his food and feeds it to my kids fingers...sounds gross but the bird must think they are baby birdies.
