I had ear tubes placed in my ears in 1982, and the procedure has changed a bit since then. However, you can expect to experience mild sore throat for a day or two. I did with both of my ear surgeries, the latest one being a tympanoplasty to remove a tube, remove scarring, and repair a perforated eardrum. They place tubes in your throat to help you breathe under anesthesia, and your throat will be a little raw afterwards.
How is your eye affected? Is it just a little irritated and sore? If you are continuing to experience pain, and it is getting worse, I would call your doctor. I would call the doctor if I was you, just to make sure everything was healing normally.
