I just watched the Dempsey/Firpo fight. It appears that Firpo hurt Dempsey badly at the end of the round?

I know that Dempsey came back and won the fight in the very next round. But I was just wondering if he might have lost had Firpo had 60 more seconds to beat on him. Please, serious, informed answers only. Thanks everyone.

Yes it is very possible that Firpo could have won that fight and nearly did. He had Dempsey hurt after being knocked through the ropes Dempsey later said that he saw 3 Firpo's to which his trainer said "hit the one in the middle". Dempsey amazingly recovered and began bombing Firpo the next round and winning by kayo. The Wild Bull of the Pampas was a big hard punching man that had the Manassa Mauler in some pretty serious trouble during this fight.
