I went to my hairdresser a while back cause I wanted some subtle aburn highlights in my dark brown hair. She said that to just do foils on it with the chosen shade wouldnt work. My hair is to dark to take the color. I wouldnt show up. So she bleached it and then put the color in. It looked great for a while but then the shade started fading out and now I just have blonde highlights. Which I dont want. Been there done that. Its growing out too and it looks bad. I want to know if I dye it a black brown color if it will take out all the bleached pieces and make it look better. More uniform and darker. I hate having these light pieces and want it back all one color. So will it work?

yes it will cover the light streaks... but they may still be lighter than the rest of your hair. It should just look like natural highlights. I had the same issue. Just pick a color close to your natural color.

Great Question,
She didn't really have to bleach it to blond.
However it's done now.
Don't use a permanent color as you may not know what and how dark it can become.

Use a semi or demi, or loving care brown.
You can use this once a month.
If it isn't dark enough wait a week and try again.

The bleached hair will soak up the color unevenly and will wash out even worse.

You can also try some of the Kiwi conditioners that have color in them. Try the walnut brown and that will also be a great fix.
It's a bit messy so be sure to comb it threw your hair good and leave it in as directed.

Good Luck

If the stylist would have used color instead of bleach to give you auburn high lights it would have worked better and it would not have faded to blonde.

the dye will work, but not the greatest.
the dye will not have a matte color, the highlights will still be there, just less visible, it will be maybe dark brown if you dye your hair black, medium brown if you dye it brown, and approximately brown is you dye it black/brown.

I would see a colorist and once you color your hair, buy a shampoo for color treated hair.
