I am dating a girl for a while; we are at an early stage ... more like a friendship. I appreciate her a lot and am open for more further down the road.

Anyways. I love to call her "girl" and address her with "hey girl". For me it expresses how I feel about her. It feels to me saying something nice because I DO think she is a nice girl (I can't call her sweetie at this point ;-) ...) Does "hey girl" sound odd? I don't want to insult her or anything ...

No. We are not teenagers anymore.

Thanks for all the feedback; that helped a lot. Just that y'all don't think I am a complete jerk: English is not my native language and I am still fine-tuning. You saved my butt here.

if you're over thirty she loves it, trust me. There is nothing that pisses me off more than sales clerks calling me ma'am while carding me for cigarrettes. Try baby girl, cutie girl and hottie girl while you're at it.

Saying "Hey girl" could sound a little weird. If u want to use a pet name call her babe or hun but not cutie, sweetie, girl, ect. but it u think that u arent far enough in a relationship then just use her name not pet names

if u guys arent teenagers anymore addressing her like dat is kinda insulting. u sound like u really care about her and if u keep callin her ''gurl'' she will start to think dat u dont want to take ur relationship 2 the next level and dat u only consider her a friend. u dont hav 2 call her ''babe'' but address her properly. ok!! stat sweet

I think that calling a women a "girl" is very disrespective. Not only do you not know about her other relationships, you could be setting yourself up for "no chance at all". My best advice to you is acknowledge her best qualities and go from there... and NEVER call any women, girl, gal, lady..... simply girl!

i think calling the girl you like "girl" can sound sweet sometimes... but you might want to find another pet name that's a little more endearing...

Try using her name. It would be proper and no insult should be taken by using her name. Good luck.

Hey if it's comfortable with you then it's fine. But, you need to ask her how she feels about it.

it does sound weird. "girl" is something us females use to talk to eachother. so, you calling her "girl".... is like just another one of her girlfriends.

Make you sound like you're a black girl talking to another black girl. Find another term of endearment!
