and if only "some" can do this then what is the difference between those who can and a schizophrenic who speaks to beings who are not physically there?
"a real question, good for me?" thanks for defining a "condescending response" for everyone.

EVERLASTING LIFE is life after death. not talking about the ones brought back to life, thank you. and if there is such a divide between the dead and the living, where is the proof then that there IS such a thing as the living post mortem?

But they can.
Just because you havn't experienced it yourself, doesn't mean that they cannot .
A lot of people talks with the dead every day.

When a spirit is called up from the dead it is already borne its' cross and therefore has given the earth its' 'good and bad'. If you call a spirit that has already given its' lessons then you are simply talking to the spirit for selfish reasons and therefore even though it is possible we do not do it because selfishness can only bring about greater selfishness and an evil will have to befall someone.
When King Saul went to the witch of Endor who summoned the spirit of Samuel the prophet the evil had to befall King Saul because he refused to believe what he was already told.

Some believe the dead do communicate with them. Why can't we all perceive this? Some don't know how to perceive it.-----The difference between this person and the schizophrenic is the latter cannot assimilate his experience.---------There is no 'proof' as you put it, but many subjective events cannot be proven to others. This does not negate the experience. Have you ever thought of something and someone else speaks your thoughts? Does telepathy exist? There is no 'proof', but we have all had experiences.

Who ever said they don't. The problem is most won't even believe it, but proofs are evrywhere. From ghost sightings to the dali lama. Who is believed to be the incarnated former dali lama. This is what it boils down to. They do talk to us evreyday. But then you have another who can sway someones mind and/or beliefs to a different conjecture. I converse everyday. They are more alive then me. LOL. But who could ever tell. Oh, I just did. PEACE!
Edit: I love this quote that is said to be true. "If you talk to GOD, then you are considered a believer. But if HE talks back, then you are crazy." Same goes for spirits who in all actuality are just men and women whom have grazed this same planet. The ways of the world for all other non christian beliefs were to ALWAYS follow thier ancestors. This is how we always knew what to do. Because they never forsaked us.

Well first of all they are on the other side living their own lives! But to them we are the ghosts but at the same time we think of them as ghosts. Because if you think about it really is true, the bodies that we are in right now are just temporary and once we die our spirits go to where ever they go. Spirits and ghosts can show themselves when ever they want but, when they don't feel like it they just don't!
I know this is really confusing but I hope I helped you out!

They are alive, but they are in either heaven or hell. And, yes; there is a divide that cannot be breached.
There is a type of spirit known as familiars, another type of deceiving spirit, that try to convince people they are actually their 'dearly departed'. They seem to have knowledge of our loved ones, so we accept what they say as truth, but they are lying to us to draw us in by our curiosity for the unknown spirit realm. We are forbidden to seek information on life from those who are dead.
We are to live in faith; trusting the Creator that He has our best interest in store.

It would also make it easier if God or Jesus had actually written something...anything...down themselves.
I consider "alive after they die" to be an impossibility, and I have never understood the need that some people have to believe that anything happens when we die. The simplest answer is usually the right one (Occam's Razor), and the simplest answer would be that when we die, life (in any form) ceases.

Luke 16:26 says that there is a barrier between the living and the dead that cannot be breached, therefore, we cannot talk to the dead.

I don't believe that people are alive after they die. Psalms 146: 3-4 states: 3 Do not put YOUR trust in nobles,
Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.
4 His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground;
In that day his thoughts do perish.
