I know I know we're there to dance (at least the girls are), but we're also there to meet girls/guys and that takes talking.

I guess you can talk, you just can't hear anything the other person says.

The people running the club want your attention to be on the music, and they want the high energy of the club. There's something about loud music and big crowds that causes a huge adrenaline rush in most people. The main idea is for people to get so much of that rush, and get so hooked on it, that they come back over and over and over and over and over............................

Ever heard of "Psychotronic Warfare"? The US military (and the Russians) did a lot of research into it during the 1960's and 1970's. Classified 'Cold Way' research. The fundamental or basic premise is that by beaming external stimuli, i.e., radio signals and rhythmic harmonic oscillations (sound) at people You can create a series of predetermined reactions and responses by altering the brain wave patterns. Basically We are talking "Subliminal Perceptions" and the manipulation of "Eidetic Memories". "Psychotronics" was to have been used in the 'static interaction terrain situation" (battlefield"), the only trouble is that Females were far more susceptible to in than were Males. Men did not become super killing machines, rather they tended to become bored by the whole thing, whereas Women started to make "dubious decisions", and even lost Their inhibitions. The bottom line is that apart from the loss of equilibrium due to the effect on the inner ear (making You feel a little dizzy or 'light headed'), You feel 'good' whilst You are there' You stay longer than You normally would, (spending money) and You want to go back again, (to spend more money) just as soon as You can.

People will always ask. “Why don’t they just turn the music down at the venue?” It’s a good question. Yes it will make the music quieter, but the crowd will most likely still be more than ’85 decibels’ which is considered the lowest level for “safe hearing”. Obviously, this in turn will make the crowd louder than the music, which is not ideal when you just paid $50 to see your favourite band, dj or musician. Another very good reason is that we love to feel the music. There’s nothing like a good old fashioned bass drop that resonate our internal organs, making us feel that we are hovering off the ground.

I would recommend getting some musician style earplugs, they protect your hearing and improve the music experience and you will find it easier to communicate with people. Heres a website you can check out http://www.muteaudio.com/

Trust me, people who meet in clubs don't really "talk" to get to know each other. Usually they start grinding or kissing THEN they start going out on a date to talk, and that's why music is sooooo damn loud in clubs:)

It's to cover up the sound of puking over drinkers.. lol No seriously it's to pump up the crowd. The more pumped up the crowd is the more alcohol is sold and thats how they make the bucks...
