Every since i was a child i never understood this. They say their not racist, yet they hate the fact that their daughters date/marry black men. I understand most ppl dont believe in race mixing, but if everyone is suppose 2 be equal, what makes a black man so much different than a white guy?

there was another poster that stated something along the lines of "i would let my child marry an Asian, or Latino, but never a black". My head was about to explode but i gave myself a second and thought about it.
1. the one drop rule says that if you have any black in you, you are black. This isn't true to the same depth of other cultures. For instance, Keanu Reaves and Rob Schnider- both half Asian. Cameran Dias and Christina Aguilera- both half Latino. Jojo- openly celebrates her native heritage. However Halley Berry and Baraka Obama- clearly black.
2. so in defense of this poster (who was probably actually just a racist, and not someone who thought this through but whatever), if a white persons' grandchild is half Asian, they can still retain their whiteness, so will still have some strong connection to the grandparent. but if their grandchildren are black in modern America, the child is just black (and thier culture is "lost")
3. This is changing, and i don't think it will really matter in the next generation, at all. but the people who say this are coming from a different time

they're racist, but either don't even know it, or try to hide it. The 2 reasons I've run into with this type of situation are these: 1. they think any offspring won't be accepted as African American or white and see them as outcasts. 2. they think the black guy will knock her up and leave her immediately afterwards.
No matter how you split it, it's just plain being racist.

Anyways, I don't get it. In some senses if I were a parent I'd prefer it not to happen, but if it were to so be it.

S., lots extra. some mothers and dads dont like their daughters marrying whites the two, Bigotry is anyplace you would be able to discover it. I dont think of mothers and dads think of too lots which you will desire to belong to a gang, pores and skin colour etc yet extra the fact you do not communicate their language and cant communicate properly with them. you will desire to instruct them in case you elect to win them over. playstation as quickly as she is an person she will date who she needs and doesnt want her mothers and dads permission.
