I went to a wedding where the centerpieces were pictures of the bride and groom(old and new) and they were glued to simple black boxes(3 1/2 x 5). Or you could buy cheap frames. Dollar stores are fabulous when it comes to buying things like tea lights or water bowls...even do the traditional butter mints wrapped in veil. Alot of halls will let you use their table linens, mine even had a bunch of colors to choose from. You don't need alot of decoration, just some pretty tables and good lighting. You can save money also by having a cash bar, not an open bar. Maybe just have free soda. David's Bridal has really good prices for dresses and a line of credit available. Do not get suckered in to the hall cutting and serving your cake, they will charge you for this. Have a guest cut it. If you want a DJ, you can cut out the optional 2 hours of dinner music. Check you newspaper for amatuer photographers this will save you Big bucks. My cousin had a family member with an excellent camera and tripod take hers. For invitations, don't get dinner cards and all those extra accessories. I had themprint my reception info on the bottom corner of the invite.

Well I had the same problem!! I did invites myself on the computer, I went on line found a really cool folded invite held together by pretty ribbon....and printed them on the computer using ppr from Staples (they come in all diff colors and sizes) if took a while to fold all mine cause there were 56 folds but everyone LOVED them! I also loved them more than any store or printing company..while lookin up examples you can see what they wrote on the front and inside..take what you like and peice together something beautiful and personal!
We had my wedding at our church and called other churchs and went there and picked up items, like huge lattice wall with ribbon and hearts for my dinner backdrop and pew bows and candle holders..they were more than happy to lend those out..you could even make a gift to them...not too much but a little to show your appreciation or say you will donate to them anything you buy in exchange for letting you use some stuff! We did this and it looked beautiful and we had lots to choose from!
Also dont count out fake floral..if you find the right stuff or MIX it will real flowers it looks beautiful...we mixed real with fake and nobody knew the difference! Good luck

For invitations go to walmart they have a kit to make your own wedding invitations on the computer. Saves a bunch of money. Look in the craft wedding section.
Flowers: Go to your local grocery store that has a florist and make your own arrangements. Try sams club or costco.
Photographer: Call your local college and see if they know of any student's who could capture your daughters special day.
Have an outside wedding and rent tables or pincic tables and have an outside chicken bbq.
Spend a little more on entertainment so eveyone has a night to remember. My dj sucked

The weather should still be nice so maybe you could have the reception at a local park shelter (sounds blah but if there are nice ones in the area you can decorate it really nicely) I got my flowers from Sam's club. You can order in bulk and pick them up a couple of days before the wedding. My mom had a bunch of people from church over the am of the wedding and they had a blast making the arrangements. Our centerpieces were terra cotta pots spray painted silver (sealed by spraying on hair spray - evenly - so paint doesn't smudge) and put in 4 artificial roses from Walmart. Finish it off with Spanish Moss from the craft section. I also got a package of condiment cups in their kitchen department for 97 cents. They come in a package of four and votive candles fit perfectly in them. I made my own invitations from a kit at Target. When you make your hotel reservations grab a stack of their business cards to include in the invite. Maybe slap on a label saying, "A block of rooms has been reserved at...". If the reception is at a restaurant/hotel that will (over)charge you for appetizers, then load up at Sam's and do the appetizers yourself at the church. Worked out great for us...the bridal party got to nibble between pictures. My uncle is a photographer. We asked him to take them as our wedding gift. He took them digitally and gave us the cd. Have your daughter go through bridal magazines - I got a lot of mine at Half Price Books where they charge half the cover price. Find things in them that she really likes and wander through a craft store and figure out a way to make it yourself. The most important thing is to have fun with it. You can either make planning your wedding into high drama or a source of great memories. Email me if you need other ideas. :) Hope its a blast!

As favors I used a colored spoon, with 3 Hershey kisses, and a little tag that said " a spoon full of kisses from the Mr and Mrs "
then our date. I made the myself. I got the idea out of a magazine. You can get the stuff at a craft store. It did not cost alot. But it does depend on how many you need......

If you have a Dollar Tree it's a great place for cheap items. Get small jars with floating candles. Or goldfish are way cool!! Candles are pretty cheap for the tables. Again for invites write them yourself. You can find pretty invites at any store.

Buy one of those kits so that u can print ur own invitations.

Buy some candle rings, put them around some ivy bowls, and put a candle in the ivy bowl.

Have a small wedding in somebody's backyard or home.
