This is probably more out of morbid curiosity than anything, but earlier today I got two pages of Christians telling me that the tools of my religion (Tarot cards and Ouija boards among others) are demonic in nature.
I was actually a little surprised because I thought we were beyond that sort of bigoted attitude by now. Now I'm wondering just how deep that attitude is. If the tools of witchery are demonic, then do you think witches are evil? If you're a Christian, do you believe that the many verses in the Bible that say a witch / sorceress / magic-user should be put to death?
Given the chance, would you start up the witch hunts and the burning times again?

Voodoid, I should think you'd WANT to know if we're in danger. Did you know, when ostriches stick their heads in the sand, they're not so difficult to see?
Please don't answer unless you have an answer. Thanks. :)

Fortunately, all the Christians so far are saying 'no'. Thank you - I think that you people are much more Christ-like than the folks who answered my Tarot question! :)

I wish Christians would wake up to the fact that many things in the bible were put there by man ( not God) to control the masses.
They are so quick to defend the Bible, while knowing nothing about it, other than how to spew out some verses. MOST know nothing of the history.

I am not a Christian and would not start a witch hunt. However, about your stated interest in Tarot cards and Ouija boards, I thought we were over that sort of thing. We have probability theory now, we have advanced quite a bit from sympathetic magic.

While in general the answer is No, witch hunts are unlikely
However
In some parts of the world including America and Europe there are pockets of supposed Christians who are fully capable of witch hunts and killing in God's name.
( not actually a Christian activity in it self- but a historically popular one.)
the original meaning of the word/phrase M'khashephah lo tichayyah' used in the Hebrew of the original writer in Exodus was writing about destructive magic or evil magic
the word can be either collective or feminine
successive mistranslation has turned this into specifically Women -- witches in general and killed thousands in Gods name,
Even King Saul consulted Divination
so in a manner similar to being of alternative sexual orientation one should be careful where one is when they declare their Faith and Spiritual practice.

Why do witches go through christians to stay? can we quite need to circulate approximately killing different people, all via fact King James politically mistranslated the Hebrew observe for "Poisoner" (pertaining to Assassins) to 'Witch,' via fact human beings stated as witches for the time of his day have been landowners (generally outdoors of cities, the place they grew herbs for healing, and abortions and stuff) and that they could use the mistranslation to scouse borrow land for the King?

Christians are to only love and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are not to judge or condemn ANYONE!!! Suffer a witch to live? How about God has suffered us all to live even though we all sin and fall short? If God has given you life and a chance each day to believe in Him, then what Christian out there thinks they are morally above God enough to go on witch hunts or persecute any sinner? This is why I say that all those who call themselves Christians, yet would stand outside of abortion clinics with pictures of mutilated babies calling the women who go into those places murderers, are all going to be in for a very big surprise on judgment day. God knows this world is full of sin and even the Christian is not totally without sin..not even the Pope!! However, God has given grace onto the entire world. It is a chance while we live to love Him and follow Him. Unfortunately, there are many other religions, faiths, and/or beliefs that are deceiving billions of people into believing some hellish things. But ONLY GOD will be the judge of that in the end.

Witchcraft is witchcraft. It is entwined with sorcery and the occult practices. It does not matter if you are a white witch or a any kind of witch, the source of witchcraft all comes from the same foundation. Santeria and voodoo also practice the same rituals and have the same foundation. The foundation of witchcraft is based on deceptions that there exsist another source of power equal to or greater than God's. A good example would be when Moses was up against the Pharoah's magicians.
Where does the deception and the fraudulent powers come from? Not man, because if it was within the ability of man then we would all have these powers, and yet we don't. So obviously man is not greater to or equal to God. But the one who tries to imitate God is Satan, and he has decieved people into believing anything else, giving them the taste for the supernatural and inticing them into seemingly innocent games such as ouiji boards. These are doors that he uses to draw people deeper into the depths of sorcery.
These practices are more harmful to the ones who practice it , than to others. Because literally it is like selling your soul to the devil. I personally don't believe in witch hunting as a means to clean up society from the practice of witchcraft, because that is not what Jesus calls us to do. I believe there is more power in prayer than in witchcraft. God's love is greater than any sorcery or magic. His Word is more powerful than an enchantment or spellcasting.

NO - I don't want people who practice witchcraft put to death. YES, I do think it is wrong to practice witchcraft. I think that it is against God, which means it is a sin. The thing is, I also know that most witches are probably good people - kind and generous. I just think that they should worship their Creator instead of the earth or... whatever it is that they worship. I'm sorry (I am not sure exactly what wiccans worship - I think it is nature and the earth). I really don't want any harm to come to witches, at all. I want them to be my brothers and sisters in Christ. If that is out of the question, then I just want them to continue to be the best people they can be. If I personally knew a witch, you can bet I would pray for him or her (I just wouldn't tell them I was, because I wouldn't want them to get irritated at me). :o)

Christians do believe that witches are evil and that they should be put to death. If it says so in the Bible, then it must be so. The Bible is the compiled works of God, it is his word and since he is perfect there is no possibility that any part of the Bible is wrong.
You are in the same boat as those people who work on Sundays, as the Bible states that they also should be killed (Exodus 35:2).
Normal people, on the other hand, who actually can use their minds and respect others realize that you are not harming anyone and probably making the world a better place, unlike Christians.
Oh, and if God created EVERYTHING (yes Christians you state God created everything and if you are not sure of the definition please look it up) then God created witchcraft, and everything else. God created it, since God created EVERYTHING. Christians can not have it that God created everything, but then not really everything because of things that you find possibly offensive. Witchcraft is older than Christianity and moves with the energies of nature, a good thing.
