I have dry lips as well. When you go to bed at night, after your done washing your face, take a toothbrush or one that your not using and wet it. Then dip it in vaseline and rub your lips(make sure your lips are wet first) after your done, wipe off the vaseline with a towel. after that, you can also if you want, put carmex on your lips. By morning time, you've got smooth lips. But during the day, be sure to put some kind of lip balm on.

Your lips don't have oil glands meaning they don't naturally produce moisture, so to help bring in that moisture you need to drink plenty of water. Try not to lick your lips because that can dry them out. The weather has a lot to do with dry lips, especially the winter. I try to do this once or twice a week (expecially during winter): take a wash cloth and wet it w/ hot (not too hot that it'll burn) water, hold it to your lips until the cloth cools and then use the cloth to exfoliate and the dead skin will rub right off. Follow up w/ Blistex, Carmex or good old Vaseline. Also Mary Kay Satin Lips (the set is wonderful, helps to remove dead skin as well) is good as well as the Body Shops Hemp Chanvre Lip Protector.

My lips get very dry too. You can't just find a miracle chap stick, it takes work.

Sleeping with a humidifier works. It really helps your skin all over. Using a lip balm like Blistex or Carmex is good. These will really help to keep your lips moisturized. And whenever you get that dry peely skin on your lips, use a soft tooth brush or a damp wash cloth after you shower on it. Just brush you lips lightly and it will feel like new. Make sure you sleep with the lip balm too.

And drink lots and lots of water. The first sign of dehydration is in the lips!

I have super super dry lips, especially now since it's winter. I use blistex medicated balm. and if you don't want something that smells or has any kind of medicated taste I LOOOOOVVVEEE satin lips from Mary Kay. It's kind of expensive but you don't need a lot, and it works really well, especially if you use it before bed, then when you wake up it will have helped through the night. The key is to apply whenever you feel the dryness coming back, so that your lips stay moist.

Well it IS the winter, so i suppose every one of us gets chapped lips sometimes. What I do is in the morning, after washing my face and the lips are still wet, take your washcloth and GENTLY exfoliate your lips with the wet washcloth. This will take off the dead skin, and you will have smooth lips. BUT, you MUST, MUST put on good lipbalm or chapstick afterwards. I recommend using a lipbalm from the Body Shop because their products there are natural and don't irritate you.
At night before you go to bed, you could also put on some oily lipbalm, that way, you'll wake up to smooth and moisturized lips! :]

I totally do, especially in dry winter. I use Carmex and it works great! It's a yellow tube with a red cap and u can get it for $1 at Target, Walgreens, Wal-Mart...anywhere. It works great as a moisturizer and a gloss-apply a coat after you come in from the cold and anytime when your lips feel dry or cracked.

Olive oil is great for moisturizing dry lips. Not practical for the road of course, that's when I used Burts' Bees tinted lip balm and Carmex.

Peace!

For dry lips: Exfoliate gently in the shower with sugar. It's a natural humectant so it's going to pull more moisture intoy our lips. Directly after getting out of the shower, apply a small amount ofa healing lip balm, and a bit of glycerin. It absorbs quickly and promotes healing. Always make sure that you're lip protectant has an spf. Furthermore in colder climates, follow with a heavier balm to shield your lips from wind, and sun burn.

I just use chapstick.
Don't breathe through your mouth because studies have shown your lips are more likely to get dry if you breathe through your mouth.
