Although a serious topic, I have to say I did have a laugh at this.

My husband and I are both chronic farters -- gross but true. He does this thing called the "dutch oven", where he'll fart in bed and trap me under the sheets so I have to live off his butt air for SECONDS at a time. I am living off the air that has spewed forth from his butthole. Gross. But, I adore him anyway.

But, I do give him the ole "beef stew", which is a maneuver where when he's sleeping, I will fart directly in his face, yell "BEEF STEW", and run for my life. :) I think it's hilarious.

So, my opinion is that if you have a good, comfortable relationship/marriage, farting won't ruin that. Everyone farts, after all! It's just a part of life!

i think its ok for guys but it depends on how comfortable you are with eachother. personally if i just met a girl and she started farting i would probably think she needs to show a little class. The same with a guy, but its more expected.
