This guy asked me to a dance. I'm 17, he's 16, we're in the same grade and school. But, I'm not sure if he wants to get romantically involved too, as in bf and gf. We talk some, and e-mail a lot. And, I e-d him that he could back out if he wanted and he said that's not an option. Then, I asked him why me and not some other pretty girl who goes to our school...I'm average looking, and he came up with a paragraph of reasons. But, last week, i found out i couldn't go cuz i have to take the ACT the next day. He said it was ok, but now he's acting kinda strange around me. y?

Sounds as though your self-esteem could stand a boost. Also might seem to him that since you've asked so many q's and then come up with the ACT excuse, that maybe you're begging off. Maybe he thinks this is your way of letting him down easy, but it still may feel like rejection to him, intended or not.

Its because you were asking him so many questions and since u said no then he probally thinkls that u are just making up an excuse. if i were u, i would make the next move cuz he already made the first move so its now your turn to make the seound mvoe. that is if he likes you. and i am pretty sure he likes u, since he asked u to the dance

he probably bet his friends he could get you then planned on making a fool of you at the dance in front of the whole school. now he lost the bet . you owe him money

maybe he likes you...
does he know the reason you cant go?
maybe he feels rejected wherein he thinks there's something
wrong w/ him or he has done something wrong to make you back out. so he's acting strange because he doesnt know...
or maybe its just his defense mechanism after being rejected

i agree that he might have felt you made it up to get out of the dance thing. is it you don't wanna go with him? genuine reason or not, its how you handle that kind of thing. reassure him its not so if its not so.
maybe its the age thing. you ok with younger men? did you tell him?

yea he prob thinks you don't like him.... its happened to me... he likes you and feels rejected because you can't go...if you like him make sure you let him know... the ACT isn't that bad... try to go with him if you can and get home early or something... make a compromise
