Well I've got a 233 MHZ Bondi Blue iMac with Mac OS 8.6 on it but the system folder isn't really functioning anymore. I started it up on a brand spankin new Mac Os Disc and everytime it tells me to Install the newer Firmware which I try to and I get to the step of restarting. Then It will come up "Please Restart And Install Firmware on an Unlocked System Folder. Well What Can I do all the extensions on it were deleted and I need to fix it. So can I over ride the Firmware update or Figure out how to get OS 9.2.2 Installed ....

Boot to the CD that came with the iMac and do a clean install of OS 8.6. After that, you can install the firmware updates while booted to the hard drive. You can't run a Mac firmware update while the computer is booted to a CD.
