Seems a pretty obvious thing to say but that sounds like a pretty stupid thing to do...unless you are into branding and other forms of self mutilating body modification. Suggest running it for 15 mins under cold water then wrapping ti in cling film and seeking medical advice. But...that is only if you've just done it...sounds more like you did it some time ago and are perhaps to embarrased to see a medic...so stop blushing and go see a doc - if its infected, gunky and smelling you have a problem
To K_T_18 - no not supposed to put material that will stick to the skin as it will tear when it comes off equally putting cream on a still "warm" burn just heats up more like oil in a pan...clingfilm was invented for medical treatment during the Vietnam war (according to a source at the British Red Cross - although dubious) but wapping it around a burn stops oxygen getting to the burn and reduces not only the burning sensation (the pain) but also reduces the risk of scarring by some 80% - as it doesn't stick into the burnt damaged area it can be peeled off to treat the area by a professional.

You are doing good. But I guess this is an intentional burn. For accidental burns...the best thing is to stop the burning process immediately.......by putting the burned area under cool running water. Most of the time if you do this immediately, you won't even get a blister. As for your burn, neosporin is fine if you suspect a minor infection. If your arm starts swelling, with pus oozing out, you'll need to see a doctor. Best of luck to you.

Silverdine is the best thing. It made my burn go away within a week and you cant even tell that I burned my arm.
I tried to get it from Walgreens and they wouldnt give it to me even though I showed them the burn they told me to put neosporin on it. Go get a prescription because its worth it.

A&D Ointment.
And...if it gets infected, you'll have to scrape off all the yucky stuff and start treating it all over again...and that will hurt....and make you cry like a little girl.....so go get some antibotics soon if the A&D doesn't work.

gilly, i thought that you were NEVER to put anything over a burn as the open wound can stick to the item you have placed on it and damaging it further. you can see your pharmasist for infection medicine as they may have another sugggestion, sometimes they recomened certain creams but it depends on the wound x

one question...................WHY?
once infection has gone, if you wanna clear the scar then try NIVIA facial cream, if you don't know what this is then ask your mum... seriously! i got severe burns on my legs and was told to try this. i had nothing to lose so did...not perfect, but my specialist 12 months later asked me what i'd been using!!

why did you do that? it sounds rather silly if you ask me! however, rub lavender oil in it very good anti septic people have used it for centuries!
Please don't do that again, take care of yourself!
