Like in Japan (seven tenths of a per cent Christian), India (2 per cent Christian), Europe (While nominaly Christian no one really cares any more). In short, Christians make up only about one third of the world's religions putting them in the minority status. The rest of the world knows about christianity but are not interested.

Just because Christianity makes up only 1/3 of the world doesn't mean it is not the minority.
Let's say that there are only 4 other religions in the world: Judism, Muslim (Sh'ite (sp?) and Sunni), Buddism, and lets say that each of those only made up 1/6. Christianity would be the majority.
But if Jesus threw a party and nobody came then that would mean that nobody cared anymore. But I care, so I would at least be somebody who came.

Good Question!

Actually Jesus gave a parable of this- not a party, but a dinner banquet, found in Matthew 22:1-14, link below.

Just like you said, Jesus mentioned the kingdom of heaven is like a King who hosted a dinner banquet for his son, and sent his servants invited a lot of people to come. A lot of choice food and drink had been prepared, but nobody wanted to come. Some actually killed the servants who invited them.

The king then said, 'well, the banquet is ready but the invited did not come, so just go out to the street and invite anyone you meet'. However the guest who came but were not dressed for the occassion were kicked out.

To explain this parable, God invited everyone to come into His kingdom, but many ignored and refused his request, and even harmed his messangers (ie Christians). God turned instead to those who were perhaps not so priviledged to come and join him. Those who came were treated to the feast and the goodness of the kingdom, but there is also a warning that anyone who 'pretends' to be in the fellowship of Christ but really is not will be discovered and thrown out.

Much of the Western world can be thought as post-Christianity. They think they've heard it all and understood it all (excuse my generalisation) and it don't work so they turned to all sorts of other things and d.i.y. religions. Many missionaries today are reaching out to those in Asia, Africa and other parts of the world that need the gospel desparately and let me tell you, 2% of Indians is a very large population and God is planting many seeds all over the world.

When God's invitation comes we have a choice- accept or refuse. We are free to do as we please, but if we refuse, it will be at our own loss.

22:2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
22:3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
22:4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
22:5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
22:6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
22:7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
22:8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
22:10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 22:2-13 Matthew KJV HOLY BIBLE

Jesus IS throwing a party and nobody is coming. The last three chapters of Revelation speak of Christ's second coming as a wedding party, when we join God in eternity. I'd like to invite you to the party. Join Christ and rock out on that final day!

It is all about choice. Choose to attend or not. Choose life or death. God is not a thief that He would try to steal your heart. He only wants it if it is freely and lovingly given. So if Jesus throws a party and you choose not to attend, it's okay. It is your choice. We don't have to worry about nobody attending. Lots of people go to Jesus' party on a daily basis. I know I do. It is called visiting Him in His Word and fellowshiping with Him.

Be blessed.

I guess Jesus would need to get himself a phone and ask people to come! Otherwise he'd be celebrating by himself!
