During this time of the year, I usually get really really dry lips. My upper lip and my lower lip have skin flaking off and it bothers me. I put on chapstick, and vasceline, but it isn't working. Any advice?

I saw this on the tyra banks show and it really works. Apply a liberal amount of vaseline on top and bottom lips then take a soft bristle toothbrush and gently brush your lips. Any loose skin will come right off. Any that doesn't come right off do not force because of course your lips will bleed. Wipe off any excess with a warm wet cloth then apply a little more vaseline.

Another thing I do is make my on lip scrub. Again, grab the vaseline. Take a tablespoon of it and place in a cup then get about a tablespoon of salt and mix the two together. Take just a little and apply to lips(save the rest for later treaments)and gently rub your lips with your finger. Wipe off with warm wet cloth and apply a little more vaseline.
Hope it works for you.

Get a humidifier to run in your bedroom at night. My lips will dry out and crack overnight if we don't run ours. All the chapstick in the world put on during the day won't help if your lips are damaged at night.

Best choice is Carmex, I tried Blistex but it doesn't make any good, i tried petroleum jelly too it worked too that's before I learned about Carmex. I used it (well...till now) when I had extremely dry lips b'coz of taking Accutane.
I like the one in a tube instead of the tin container, but it doesn't really matter.

Chapstick will make your lips more dry. Try satin lips from marykay. The mask will take off the dead skin, and the balm will restore moisture to you lips, and keeps your lips moisturized. For more info go to http://www.marykay.com/ctoyoda.

My advice is every 5 or 10 minutes put on chapsticks or vaseline, because I tried that before and it worked!!Also I had difficulty trying to find out what I have to do, then I thought of something that interested me to do is to put chapstick or vaseline every 5 or 10 minutes. And sometimes we just need to try something until we succeed. Like a motto saying" Try and try until you succeed"
