I'm trying to start a petition. If you think homework is more helpful than hurtful, say yes, and if you think it's helpful, just don't answer. Because you're wrong. It causes kids to stress out and leads to them not having a life outside of school. Childhood should be a time where your stress-free, but now kids are getting depression all over the place because of stress. Which is caused by homework and grades. So sign the petition with "yes." Who knows, maybe it'll lead up to something.

By the way, I'm not in the sixth grade. I know this had bad grammar, it's a bulletin post on the internet. Get over it. And I'm not talking about myself, I'm talking about the people around me. My brother has to stay up until 3 in the morning to finish his homework and every move he makes is influenced by what college he's going to get into. I've seen kids at my school go crazy (I mean this literally) from the stress and have to leave the school. I'm not depressed, but the depression rate in teens has gone up way much. And they didn't have homework forever, maybe whoever said that should do a little research themselves. I think learning is done best when you want to do it, and homework is turning people against school, selfish of them or not.

Another add details. I'm not under-educated. I'm a great student, no matter what you Miss Krista Marie has to say about it. Do you know me? Do you have the rights to call me an under-educated individual who will work at Mickey-Ds? Can you tell me why Pericles' vision for Athens in the Delian League caused antagonism and eventually the Peloponnessian Wars? Or how about the respiratory system? Do you know gas is exchanged in the alveoli? Do you even know what alveoli are? Think before you talk, girl. You obviously need to be educated on how not to be rude.

You need to do your homework to keep up and get through with the school systems that you attend. A petition against homework will also not help with
1.) Having a good relationship with teachers and others involved in education.
2.) Getting rid of a centuries old tradition that is practiced worldwide by millions and millions of teachers.

With that said, I would agree that there is too much of an emphasis on homework and standardized tests within education.
Other problems associated with education would be the tracking systems in place, competitiveness..
A petition against homework (such as this one) will not impact this issue. Continue to do your homework, you will get through school.

P.S.

To those who responded earlier:

1.) Expletives do not strengthen your argument.
2.) Name calling also does not strengthen the logic or impact of your argument

Kids won't learn if they don't do homework. Can you get better at baseball if you don't go to practice? So you need to shut your mouth, it doesn't cause kids to stress out or not have a life outside of school you're probably in the sixth grade and you think your major book-report is going to ruin the rest of your life.

Your so called ''depression'' is just you not having ambition. So here's the good news. In college they don't check your homework, you can even cut class if you want without having mom call you out! But when it comes time for you to take exams you better know that sh!t off the top of your head, otherwise you're just throwing all that tuition money down the drain! And you'll probably lose your scholarships if in fact you manage to get any! So get offline and go do your homework, because if being online is what you consider as "having a life outside of school" you seriously need to prioritize a little bit better hun.

Good luck with life, you're too under-educated to instigate a full-fledged NO HOMEWORK bill so just accept the fact that you're going to have to do homework if you want to have a "life outside of school" when you grow up.. otherwise, have fun working at Mickey D's.

Update:: Grow Up. You aren't remotely impressive. Have fun fryalating honey. :)

motives my youthful ones used to provide why they did not like homework: Too complicated. Takes too lengthy to do. Too boring. Takes time far flung from different issues. Too many different events to do. instructor did not clarify it nicely adequate. did not comprehend it. None of them really made any distinction. interior the right, the homework nonetheless had to get done, and in the journey that they spent countless time complaining about it, it basically took longer to get it complete. I do agree that typically there might want to be too a lot homework.

I totally agree. Homework is not worth getting dark bags under our eyes from lack of sleep and not being able to go out due to homework. It causes so much stress and is school even worth our health? in fact, someone from my friend's school jumped off the school stadium due to stress..

I do believe though, homework is good to a certain extent but too much is bad because some of my friends who take so many AP classes don't even SLEEP anymore.

Stop being immature. The world doesn't revolve around you. If you don't want to do your homework (even though everyone else does and has since the beginning of time) then don't do it.
and trust me....if your not going to make it in the real world if your already stresseed out about homework
