if you are asking because it is not being used for sleeping but
does have a matress and is against a wall, i think some really
big cushy pillows lined up against the wall would make good seating for you and your friends to hang out or play video games.
if you are asking because you do not have a matress on the bottom bunk i would put your bedding from the top bunk on
the bottom and use that bunk for sleeping and put plywood
on the top and get some baskets and line across for storage.
or try to get an inexpensive metal bed frame for your matress and get rid of your bunk bed altogether.

not sure what you mean. maybe a big piece of ply wood, for the mattress to rest on.
